Week Ending 17th November
Monday 11thAnother really good day at Swindon for us as we continued our excellent recent form with 3 winners.
Forest Pearl made it a quick fire double after her first career win last week as she led all the way in her A4. Last weeks victory had obviously done her confidence the world of good and she won impressively in a fastest of the day 29.22. Hopefully she'll continue to go from strength to strength.
Der Lone Razor made it career victory number 20 from his 93 starts as he got up late to win his A3 by 3/4 of a length in 29.76. His owners, the House Of Razor syndicate have been great supporters of the kennel and have just purchased a superbly well bred June 12 novice pup who will begin trialling in the next few weeks.
Zamboni Zazzle completed the days work as she just held off kennel mate, Alarming Arti by a short head in their A3. She won in 29.44 and has now won 9 of her 35 starts.
Tuesday 12th
A fairly busy trial day with 12 dogs going to Swindon.
Mercurial Jet returned from a minor niggle with a good 29.42 effort. He beat Fleetwood Kittie by a length who completed her qualifying today. Both of these will make nice types next year.
Swords Brett (28.95) and Southern Angel (29.07) both re qualified today and will be kept at Swindon for the time being. Angel stayed very strongly to the drop again today and her future may lie over a slightly further trip.
Ring The Alarm pinged the lids and won her trial nicely in 29.08 as she returned from a cut foot.
Recent arrival, Dubai Swift, was a bit disappointing in his first 480 trial for us as he only posted 29.70 but it's early days for him yet.
Stanton Apollo (16.45), Jolly Bullseye (16.21), Gleannrue Mario (16.47), Redlion Enfield (16.99) and Barnish Booth (16.39) all went in their sprint trials.
The purchase of a new quad bike a couple of weeks ago (the last one proved somewhat unreliable!) has already reaped dividends with the recent set of results proving that you cant do without a gallop. It's been in constant use lately and is a major asset to the kennel and the quad bike makes very light work of keeping it in great order.
Wednesday 13th
Another couple of winners from this evenings meeting at Swindon. Veteran Moody Mare got another victory to add to her tally as she led all the way to win her A3 by 1/2 a length in 29.39.
Brilliant youngster, Boom Boom Lass, made it 2 wins from 3 career starts as she led around the 1st bend to win a decent A2 race by 1 1/4 lengths in a personal best 29.03. She's only a June 12 baby and to think she's already capable of this type of performance after just 3 races is frightening. She'll certainly be one of the kennel stars over the coming months and years.
This morning we took delivery of another top prospect from Ireland, he's only a baby and will be given plenty of time to settle in before he starts off but he'll have the Monmore Puppy Derby as his main target.
Airport Captain is making good progress from his ligament injury sustained last time out at Romford. He's been bandaged up again for another week to restrict movement of the hock but should make a full recovery in time.
Thursday 14th
Just a couple of runners at Hove tonight. Recent arrival, Gleannrue Mario, missed the break in his maiden sprint and was crowded on the bend. Ardfert Warhawk ran well to the 4th bend where he tired but he'll come on nicely for the run.
Friday 15th
We'll begin at Swindon where we managed another 3 winners.
Jan 09 veteran, Alarming Alan, made it two wins on the trot as he won his A2 by 2 1/2 lengths in 29.14. Alan is a lovely dog who's made a tremendous return to racing after a broken hock.
Reel Tiger won her A6 race in only her 2nd ever start as she led virtually all the way to win by 1 length in 29.59. Tiger is only a March 12 and can only improve.
Nickys Love won her A4 in great style on her return to graded racing at Swindon. Poppy has had a very start stop career with various things going wrong but she's in terrific form now and hopefully she can have a good run of consistent racing. She won tonight by 7 lengths in a personal best 29.16.
There were also some really good performances in defeat this evening with Jet Stream Jet, Alarming Dasher and Gemstone Jack all running well to finish 2nd in their respective races and there were personal best times for Punchestown Boy and Boom Boom Dave who won't be long in winning again.
Over at Romford we didn't manage a winner from our 7 runners but there were some very good performances again. Allen Buttercup, Jet Stream Odds, Southern Mesut and Jolly Be Good all ran very well in defeat and they'll more than likely head back there again next week.
Saturday 16th
Two winners to end the week with.
Ring The Alarm pinged the lids and led all the way to win her A2 in great style by 2 1/2 lengths in 29.06. Suzie had been off a few weeks since cutting her toe so it was great to see her return with a win. Boom Boom Hero was sent off a short priced favourite for the same race but got done straight out the boxes and was badly crowded on the bend. He'll have a short rest now.
Taranis Diva won her A2 by 3/4 of a length in 29.22. Diva has been off injured for a good while now and should continue to improve with more racing and work.
Droopys Danneel recorded a good calculated 28.71 in her pre race trial and will head off to Belle Vue next week for a trial in preparation for the Oaks.
great to read the blog again, its been a while!
