Open Race Dog For Sale

 

We are pleased to be able to offer Stanton John (August 10) for sale to stay in the kennel.

We have had John in the kennel for a few months now but he suffered a couple of minor niggles in his early qualifying trials so we didn't want to offer him for sale until we felt sure he was 100% sound. He was given plenty of time to recover from these niggles

(in fact we gave him 6 weeks extra as we've always rated him highly).

After his 2 come back sprint trials in which he posted 16.60 and 16.43 we were confident that he was ready to be stepped up to 4 bends and we were over the moon when he posted a flying 28.36 at Swindon which is just over 2 lengths off the track record! This was an incredible run considering it was John's first 4 bend workout since December. John pinged the lids to record a very good 2.42 sectional on the way to beating an A1 dog by over 9 lengths.

In his last race in Ireland, John won an A1 at Drumbo in a very good 28.75, prior to this he'd recorded a flying 28.04 open race win at Derry and had won a novice race in Shelbourne Park in 29.17.

John looks well suited to a 550-600 yard trip and looks an ideal open dog for the likes of Swindon, Hove and Nottingham. He's got good early and stays strong. He will be given his last qualifying next week at either Swindon or Hove before we find a maiden open for him.
