Week Ending 7th April
Tuesday 2nd
A fairly quiet trial session with just 6 dogs going through their paces.
Jolly Bullseye was given his first look at Swindon since his early qualifying trials and went well enough to record 28.80. He stumbled slightly from the boxes and tired coming home but he's not done much since Wimbledon and they dug the track up in the morning so this trial was ok. He'll certainly improve for the blowout and will run in a trial stakes next week before a final decision is made as to if he runs in the Arc or goes straight for the Derby.
Redlion Enfield joined the graded strength with her 29.67 spin.
Stanton Apollo looked back to his best as he beat Nickys Love by 7 lengths in a very good 28.82. He flew down the back and this time stood up very well on the day, I think he's sure to pinch an open or two this year and will probably head back to Hove in the near future. Nicky's Love still looks green around dogs but will be given a race now and we'll see how she goes. Taranis Diva was a further 1/2 length behind Nicky's and will have her final qualifying trial next week.
Screen Critic again looked like a very classy prospect as he won his 3 dog sprint trial by 5 lengths in a very good 16.12. Batman was given plenty of time to settle in as he needed some building up but he's starting to fill his large frame now and is in good form. It's possible he'll have a 4 bend trial at Swindon next week to complete his qualifying or he may head to Coventry for a trial over the new 450m distance.
Wednesday 3rd
Taranis Rex was the star of the show tonight as he pinged the lids and led all the way in his Arc trial stake. He won by 1 1/4 lengths in a fastest of the night 28.52. Despite being beaten in his first couple of races this year we've been bringing Rex along slowly with the Arc as the target and he'll be in good shape for the start of the competition. He'll run in another trial stake next week.
Sligo Mick continued his good recent form as he led virtually all the way to win his A2 by 1/2 length in 29.25.
Thursday 4th
A good night at Hove with 2 winners from our 5 runners.
Droopys Danneel made it 7 wins from 9 starts since joining the kennel as she made it a hat trick of wins at Hove. Danni was made to work very hard in the race but was very game to lead on the run in and win by 3/4 of a length in 29.94. We've decided that she'll miss the Swindon Arc and be kept to bitches only races with her main target being the Shelbourne Oaks that begins in May.
Slippery Patch overcame a tricky draw in trap 5 as he pinged the lids and led all the way in his 515m open. Patch has been running at the top of his game of late having won 4 of his last 7 races. He won by 6 1/4 lengths in a personal best 29.74 and will be taking his chance in the Arc.
Friday 5th
2 winners from today's Swindon meetings. Razor Titanic made it 2 wins from his last 3 starts as led all the way to beat kennel mate, Bookies Girls, by 1 1/4 lengths in 29.21.
Kelseys Prince ran a blinder to win his A1 by 1 length in 28.89. It was a race pretty much dominated by our 3 representatives as Mullingar Mer showed huge early to take the lead off Rainham Chris but Chris flew down the back to take a 3 length lead at the 3rd bend but Prince was really starting to motor home and collared Chris close home.
Saturday 6th
2 winners from our 7 runners this evening. Zamboni Zazzle was soon back to winning ways as she led at the halfway point to win her A7 by 2 1/2 lengths in 30.07.
Inishmore Impact just held off the late challenge of kennel mate, Black Beach, to win their A2 by a head in a fastest of the night 29.03.
Sunday 7th
No luck at Coventry tonight with our 2 runners. Hey Diego missed the break and was crowded out of the 2nd bend in his 4 bend open. Crinkill Jewel looked to have done all the hard work as she worked her way to the front at the 3rd bend in her stayers open but faded a touch coming home to finish 3rd. The track was very hard this evening which possibly didn't suit her but chances are she'll enjoy a week off next week.

Performance of the week
Taranis Rex gets the vote this week as he bounced back to form when winning a
trial stake of the Arc in 28.52.
