Week Ending 28th October
Monday 22nd
2 winners and a few 2nds from our 9 runners today.
Irdu Brannagh got her first race win as she won her A8 by 1 1/2 lengths in 30.23. Lady Mission ran a blinder as she led at the 2nd bend and went on to win her A3 by 3 lengths in a fastest of the day 28.74. Liscrea Premier ran 2nd in the A2 Owners Bonus Series final, Lizzys Bar, Mercurial Lady and Gortkelly Hudini all ran well in defeat.
Tuesday 23rd
Trials were cancelled at late notice this morning so the gallop was well used today. Portavoe Lass was impressive as she continues her come back from injury.
Wednesday 24th
A couple of winners from our 9 runners this evening.
Lady Maud returned to winning ways as she flew the lids and led all the way in her A3 to win by 4 1/2 lengths in 29.00.
Riverdale Spiros got his first win since returning from injury as he ran a brilliant first bend to muscle his way to the front and got the better of kennel mate Scobys Flash on the run to the line. Ricky won by 1 length in 29.00.
Thursday 25th
A Busy day at the kennels with around 40 dogs being checked over by our physio and trips to Monmore and Belle Vue in the evening.
Good and bad news from the physio today. Hey Diego and Lord Sugar face a spell on the sidelines with lameness but Bellmore Woody and Kelseys Prince both got the go ahead to return to full training.
Ding Hero was totally out of luck in his 630m Sky final as he took a crashing fall on the first bend. Ding broke well and looked like turning handy but within a split second he was crashing to the ground. Luckily he returned none the worse and will head to Wimbledon for the St Leger next week. We're not sure if he'll stick the tough 6 bends at the Don but it's worth a shot and he deserves to take his chance.
Taranis Rex trialled at Belle Vue in preparation for the upcoming Laurels and delighted us with his effort. Rex pinged the lids and ran the track very well as he beat the useful Boher Cheiftain by 1 length in 27.83.
Friday 26th
4 winners from our 13 runners at Swindon. Effernogue Load beat kennel mate Glendine Girl by 2 lengths in 29.36. Bookies Girls beat kennel mate Sparkem out by 2 3/4 lengths in 28.79. Motor Home got her first win since returning from her hock injury as she led all the way to win her A3 by 3 3/4 lengths in 29.05. Useful youngster, Rainham Chris, was quite impressive as he won a decent little A2 in good style. Chris broke well and showed a lovely turn of early and went on to win by 3 1/4 lengths in a fastest of the night 28.65. There's plenty left in this lad yet and he'll make a very nice dog next year.
Crinkill Jewel, Portavoe Lass and Five Alley Pub all trialled at Wimbledon tonight in preparation for the St Leger and went well. There was nothing between all three of them at the line, Crink's just edged the trial in 29.13.
Saturday 27th
Another busy day with meeting's at Coventry, Oxford and Swindon.
Firstly to Coventry where we had 5 runners at their morning meeting. Pony Bride was stepped up in trip to the 894m marathon and stayed it well as she won by nearly 2 lengths. It looks like Pony will be well suited to this type of trip in the future but she'll drop back down to 6 bends next for a crack at the St Leger. She'll take the quick runs of the comp in her stride if she can make it through a round or two. Hiding Escort ran a superb race to collar long time leader, Razldazl Houdini on the run in to win the top division of the standard open in 29.50. The exciting Forest Mollie looked a likely winner coming in to the last bend before just clipping the dog in front and hitting the rail. She's OK though and will head back to Cov next week before concentrating on Wimbledon in readiness for the Oaks. I think Mollie is a good a dog as I've ever trained. Gemstone Jack got disqualified in his 6 bend open but we won't be giving up on him just yet. Jack is only young and has huge potential if he stays focused on the job. He'll be given a break before being re-schooled.
On to Swindon where we had 2 winners form our 6 runners. Forest Ted led home kennel mate Sligo Mick in the A1. Ted won by 3/4 of a length in 28.80. Lady Maud made it two wins in a week as she beat kennel mate Winetavern Tadgh by 1/2 a length in 28.91.
Barnish Booth was the star of the show tonight though as he won the Oxford Gold Cup by nearly 3 lengths in 26.90. Mickey broke well from trap 6 and turned handy going in to the back straight where he soon took up the running. Kilmalady Biffo and Glenbane Air finished 3rd and 4th respectively in the final after both slightly missing the kick.
Slippery Patch appreciated the drop in trip to 595m and he pinged the lids and led all the way in his open to win in the 2nd fastest time of the year. Patch has the Romford Essex Vase as his big target.
The Oxford Gold Cup victory capped off a great few weeks for us and the open race tally now stands at 77.

Monday, 22 October 2012

Week Ending 21st October
Monday 15th
Just the 5 runners at today's Swindon meeting. Keeperhill Hawk made it two wins on the trot as he pinged the lids and led all the way to win his A3 by 1 1/2 lengths in 29.12. Kennel mate, Lady Maud ran well to finish as runner up.
Tuesday 16th
A very good trial session with all 11 dogs pleasing us with their efforts.
Gemstone Annie beat Penskey Rain by 1 1/2 lengths in a fastest of the session 28.74. Annie has been in terrific form of late and ran well through the Produce and this blowout would of done her good. This was also a good effort from Pensk who has struggled for runs for the last couple of weeks with opens failing to fill at Swindon, he'll be given a few graded races to keep him ticking over.
Newcomers, Swords Brett (29.13), Swords Messi (29.05) and Jolly Bullseye (28.83) all went very well in their first four bend trials and should improve nicely. The Swords brothers both stayed the trip very well and could be useful over a 600m trip. Bullseye showed a nice turn of foot to go around 5 lengths clear in his trial before visible tiring coming home, I'd expect a nice chunk of improvement next week form this lad as that was his first four bend workout for a couple of months.
Portavoe Lass made her come back from her cracked hock today and delighted us with her 29.25 effort. Esme looked good and ran the bends well and thankfully returned safe and sound. It'll be a rush but we hope to have her back in time for the St Leger at Wimbledon.
Vevas Tiger (16.65) and Express Fantasy (16.73) both returned from seasonal rest and went well. Scaffs Misty (16.60) and Beatrice Maud (17.17) both went nicely in their qualifying trials and Ballyhill Power (16.25) was very impressive when having her first look at Swindon.
Wednesday 17th
A good night for the kennel with 3 winners from our 8 runners.
Sparkem Out (29.03) and Liscrea Premier (28.89) both made it safely through to the Owners Bonus Series A2 final as they both won their heats.
Chilli Spring got her first win since returning from seasonal rest as she led all the way in her A6 to score in 29.51.
Today we tried out our new 3 dog walking machine and were a bit surprised as to how quickly the dogs got the hang of it and how much they seemed to enjoy it! I've never been a great fan of walking machines, preferring to get the dogs out on a 'proper walk' but this should prove invaluable with the bad weather coming up and we've a few dogs in particular that will benefit from the extra work as they return from injury.
Thursday 18th
Off to Monmore this evening for the heats of the TV Trophy and a 630m comp. Crinkill Jewel ran well in the toughest heat of the TV Trophy but failed to qualify as she finished in 4th. It looked likely we would qualify down the back straight for the 2nd time but we had to take the long route round the last couple of bends which let a couple of strong types up our inside. We could of done with a week's rest really after winning the Kent St Leger on Saturday but she deserved to take her chance.
Ding Hero qualified for next week's 630m final live on Sky Sports as he finished a good 2nd to Airforce Roger. Ding broke well and looked like we might lead round the bend but just got our legs taken away from behind but always looked like qualifying afterwards. Unfortunately we've been given an awful draw in 5 for the final with a lot of pace inside that we'll need to clear if we're to have a chance.
Friday 19th
Three winners from today's Swindon meetings. Active Lark flew the lids and led all the way to win another A2 by 1 3/4 lengths in 28.81. Glendine Girl also pinged out and led all the way in her A4 to win by 1/2 a length in 29.41. Forest Mollie was hugely impressive as she won a good quality A1 in a fast 28.40. Mollie showed massive pace to take 4 or 5 lengths out of some decent dogs before tiring slightly coming home. This was only her 5th ever race and her 3rd UK start and she's a terrific prospect. The Oaks at Wimbledon is firmly on the agenda.
After an horrendous 5 hour journey to Romford in the evening we were left with only 1 runner. Pony Bride finished 2nd in her maiden marathon and ran well.
Saturday 20th
With Swindon cancelled due to speedway, we all headed to Oxford where we had 7 runners.
Slippery Patch finished runner-up in the Cesarewitch final. Patch pinged the lids and went around 4-5 lengths clear but tied up again coming home and was beaten half a length. He's run well though and gave us everything he had. He's likely to head back to Oxford next week but will be dropped down in trip to the 595m.
Five Alley Pub finally got a clear run and showed what he can do when things go right for him as he pinged out and led all the way to win by nearly 7 lengths in a fast 39.75. Wolfie will go off to Wimbledon for a trial, along with Portavoe Lass and Crinkill Jewel, ready for a crack at the St Leger.
Hiding Escort ran very well in his 595m open but went down by half a length after a sluggish start.
On to the heats of the Gold Cup where we had 4 entries. The evergreen Kilmalady Biffo flew out and led all the way to win his heat in a fast 26.69. Kennel mate, Barnish Booth, ran a very good race to finish 2nd to Biffo and safely make it through to next week's final. Both will be joined in the final by Glenbane Air who ran well to finish 2nd to the Oxfordshire Trophy winner, Warning Sign. Inishmore Impact was out of luck in his heat after being crowded at the 1st and 3rd bends but it's fantastic to have 3 runners in the final next week and we go there full of hope that we can get another competition winner.
Sunday 21st
A trip to Coventry tonight with 2 runners and 2 trial dogs.
Rainham Chris beat kennel mate Stanton Apollo by 4 1/4 lengths in 29.79. Both didn't get a run at Swindon during the week so we thought it was a good opportunity to give them some further experience and they went well enough.
Gemstone Jack was stepped up to 6 bends for the first time and ran well. Jack showed good pace to lead off the 2nd bend but was caught close home and went down by a neck. He'll improve for the run and won't be long in winning.
Gemstone Annie was harshly treated to be placed in the top division of the 485m against track champion, Holdem Spy. Annie finished 5th but ran quite well. She pinged the lids and looked like turning handy but just clipped the rails at the bend and lost ground.

Monday, 15 October 2012

Week Ending 14th October
Monday 8th
Another busy day for us with a trial session at Oxford, a BAGS meeting at Swindon and the Produce Stakes final at Nottingham.
Kilmalady Biffo took his chance in the re run of the void race from Saturday night and qualified for the final when finishing 2nd. Biffo had every chance but we were pleased to get him through after just one rest day from Saturday.
3 winners from our 10 runners at Swindon today. Irdu Gormlaith won her A8 by 2 3/4 lengths in 29.91. Fishersmans Leah continued her excellent form with another A2 win. She won today by 1 1/4 lengths in 28.99. Keeperhill Hawk pinged the lids and led all the way in his A4 to win by 2 1/4 lengths in 29.28.
On to Nottingham this evening where Gemstone Jack was contesting the final of the £15,000 Produce Stakes. Jack had done fantastically well to make the decider but went off a big price at 16/1. Although we finished 5th, we were only beaten around 3 lengths by a very good winner in Romeo Recruit. Jack took a touch at the first and was slightly held up going into the third bend when making his challenge but he ran on well and did us proud. Jack will now be stepped up in trip and we're really looking forward to seeing him over 6 bends. He could make a very useful stayer and will be a lovely dog next year.
Tuesday 9th
A fairly quiet trial session with just 6 dogs going through their paces. Motor Home (29.50) and Moody Mare (29.42) both returned to the graded strength while Boynepark Joe (29.27) was given a blow out after not being used for 3 weeks by Swindon. This lad is desperate for some racing but always seems to get left on the sidelines.
We gave sprint trials to 3 very nice new recruits and all of them delighted us with their efforts. Brothers, Swords Messi (16.22) and Swords Brett (16.24) both ran the track nicely in their solo workouts. Jolly Bullseye arrived in the kennels a couple of months ago and was given plenty of time to settle in before we did too much with him. He'd been galloping at home and had looked a bit special to say the least, so it was no surprise when he recorded a flying 16.06 in his first look at Swindon. Bullseye has some very decent Irish form and will probably be given a four bend trial next week.
Wednesday 10th
Just the one winner from our 6 runners tonight. Active Lark made it 3 wins from her last 7 races as she came from off the pace to win her A2 by 1 length in 29.15.
A busy day on the gallop with 24 dogs being given a blowout including a few bitches that are due back from season in the next week or two.
Friday 12th
4 winners from today's Swindon meeting's.
Winetavern Tadgh got a gutsy win in his a2 as he got up on the line to win in 29.15.
Witcombe Lady flew the lids (2.36 sectional) and led all the way to win her A5 by 3 3/4 lengths in 29.33. Ring The Alarm got her first win since returning from season as she led all the way in her A3 to win by 1/2 a length in 29.03. Taranis Rex won a very decent A1 contest by a neck in a fastest of the night 28.48. Rex didn't break too well again but showed good early and battled really well to hold on at the line. He's likely to head to Belle Vue for a trial next.
Saturday 13th
We'll start at Monmore where we had Ding Hero and Pony Bride running. Ding was stepped up in trip to the 630m and handled himself well and was in contention until getting crowded on the 5th bend. He'll return next week for a 2 round competition. Pony Bride was also stepped up in trip to the 835m and ran well to finish 2nd. It was a tough race and she suffered crowding on the opening turn so this wasn't a bad effort at all. She'll probably be kept to the marathon trip now.
On to Swindon where we got 1 winner from our 7 runners but we did have a couple beaten in photo finishes. Off The Radar led all the way to beat kennel mate Riverdale Spiros by 2 1/4 lengths in 28.87. Radar has done really well since joining the kennel and hopefully he can stay sound for some consistent racing now. Gemstone Billy and Stanton Apollo both ran very well in defeat and shouldn't be long in winning again. Forest Mollie went off odds-on for her 509m maiden open but her race was over very quickly as the 1 dog moved out and the 3 dog moved in and put us out of the race early on.
We had a fantastic night over at Oxford with 3 winners, Inishmore Impact, Barnish Booth and Slippery Patch all did the business. Inishmore Impact was having his first look at the track but he made his task easier with a fast break and he led all the way to win in a good 27.16. Barnish Booth again proved his liking for the Cowley track as he pinged the lids and won a good quality race in 27.06. Slippery Patch won his heat of the Cesarewitch as he pinged the lids and got himself into a long lead before tiring coming home but he just held on to win in the fastest time of the night. Patch will improve for the run and will get stronger so we're hopeful of going well in the final next week. Hiding Escort and Five Alley Pub both ran their hearts out for us in their heats but were a tad unlucky and both finished 3rd.
Glenbane Air and Kilmalady Biffo were both in the final of the Oxfordshire Trophy but both got the start all wrong and our race was over very quickly. They will both head back next week for the Gold Cup.
We've saved the best till last though as Crinkill Jewel won the Kent St Leger final this evening at Crayford. Crink's had won her semi final last week and went in to the final as third favourite. She broke OK but took a good nudge on the bend and entered the back straight for the first time in 4th place but she stayed in contention and picked the front runners off and led on the run in to win by just over a length. It's our first category 2 success and a big achievement to get the first good competition win under our belts. Crink's will head to Monmore next week for the TV Trophy heats.

Thursday, 11 October 2012

Week Ending 7th October
Monday 1st
Tonight was the semi finals of the Nottingham produce stakes and we had one in each heat.
Gemstone Jack ran a huge race to qualify for the final from an impossible position after he was badly crowded around the first turn. Jack showed some real pace coming home and was only beaten a couple of lengths in the end. He could be anything when stepped up to 6 bends.
Gemstone Annie was out of luck in her semi as she was crowded on the opening bends and left in a hopeless position. Annie has done terrifically well to reach this stage though and has improved massively over the last couple of months.
We are all really looking forward to the final and it's fantastic to make both finals of the Produce this year.
Gortkelly Hudini gave us our only winner of the day at Swindon as he finished strongly to win his A4 by 3/4 of a length in 29.45.
Tuesday 2nd
A very good trial session for the kennel with a couple of the new dogs going well and some ex lame dogs returning well.
Mercurial Lady (29.07), beat kennel mates, Riverdale Spiros (29.10) and Malbay Kesha (29.41).
Stanton Apollo won his trial well in 29.14 and Motor Home recorded 29.85 in her first 4 bend trial back from lameness.
Recent arrival, Droopys Danneel, recorded a fastest of the session 28.72 in her first look at Blunsdon. She would have needed this run a bit so it was a good effort and looks a lovely stayer in the making.
Rainham Chris impressed with his 28.85 trial win. Chris is a big, backward type of dog who will need plenty of time to mature but he flew the lids today and looks to have a bright future.
Moody Mare completed our trial day as she returned from a rest with a good 16.59 sprint.
Wednesday 3rd
No luck from our runners this evening at Swindon but we did have some good news from our vets appointment this morning. Portavoe Lass was given the all clear to return to training as her x-ray showed her cracked hock has healed very well. Hoots Mon had his tonsils removed and should make a recovery in time for the BAGS Championship, he'd be a good candidate for all 3 venues if selected. Coolykereen Lee was castrated and should be ready for his forever home soon.
Friday 5th
A quiet day with just 10 runners at Swindon but we returned with a healthy 4 winners.
Bookies Girls led on the run in to win her A2 in 29.14. Liscrea Premier led from the 2nd bend to win her A2 by a short head in 29.15. Sparkem Out ran a blinder to win her A3 by 5 1/2 lengths in 28.91 and Stanton Apollo made a winning debut for the kennel as he showed good track craft and determination to win his A3 by a neck in 29.09.
Saturday 6th
A busy night for us with runners at Swindon, Oxford and Crayford.
Firstly to Crayford where Crinkill Jewel won her semi-final of the Kent St Leger. Crink's ran a cracking race to pick the leaders up near the line in the fastest time of the night. She's got a lovely draw in trap 6 for the £2500 decider and should go close.
On to Oxford where we had Glenbane Air and Kilmalady Biffo in the Oxfordshire Trophy. Glenbane Air flew the lids and led all the way in his heat to win by 3 3/4 lengths in 27.06. Biffo was unfortunate in his heat in that the hare had to be stopped in the interest of safety as he was 2 clear off the last bend. In a pre race trial, Slippery Patch beat kennel mate Five Alley Pub by 2 1/2 lengths in 39.77. Both will be aimed at the Cesarewitch which starts next week.
We had a couple of winners at Swindon as well. Ding Hero was impressive in the 509m open as he flew the lids and led all the way in a fast 29.60.
Forest Mollie made a hugely impressive UK debut as she led home a 1-2-3 for the kennel in the A1. Mollie made a hash of the start but showed huge pace to catch long time leader Forest Ted on the run in to win by 1/2 a length in 28.64. Mollie will be kept ticking over in minor opens to gain experience for the time being but the Oaks at Wimbledon will be firmly on the agenda.
Taranis Rex ran a good race after missing the kick as he was beaten on the line by the useful Hernandez.
Sunday 7th
A trip to Coventry this evening proved pretty unsuccessful. Mullingar Mer took a nasty fall in her sprint open and returned very sore in the neck, she'll be given a short break now. Pony Bride left herself too much to do in her stayers open but ran a good enough race, she'll be stepped up in trip now to see if she stays. Inishmore Impact ran a blinder to finish 2nd after flashing from the boxes but was beaten by a better dog on the night. Barnish Booth got crowded early on in his race but ran well enough on the quiet.

Tuesday, 2 October 2012

Week Ending 30th September
Monday 24th
Just the one winner at today's BAGS meeting. Off The Radar got his first win for the kennel as he led all the way to win his A2 in a good 28.92. Radar is a lovely dog who's had his fair share of niggling injuries but hopefully he'll get some consistent racing now.
On to Nottingham this evening for the first round of the Produce Stakes. We had 3 in the competition and managed to get two through to the next round.
Gemstone Annie won her heat in good style after running a terrific first bend. Gemstone Jack also qualified as he finished a strong running 3rd. Hey Diego got it all wrong at the boxes and got plenty of trouble in running as he finished a disappointing 5th.
Tuesday 25th
A very good trial session for us this morning at Swindon. Slippery Patch recorded a very pleasing 28.25 in a solo and this blowout would have done him the world of good.
Ring The Alarm clocked 29.27 in her first four bend trial since returning from seasonal rest.
Recent arrivals Rainham Chris (29.43) and Stanton Apollo (29.63) both went well enough in their first four bend trials for us.
Riverdale Spiros (16.38), Mercurial Lady (16.39), Malbay Kesha (16.34) and Motor Home (16.63) all went very well in their sprint trials.
Butchers Bounty left the kennel today to continue his racing with Jim Little. Butch has been a wonderful dog for us but we needed to free some space for some new dogs coming in.
Wednesday 26th
3 winners this evening at Swindon from our 5 runners. Fishersmans Leah just got up on the line to win her A2 by a head in 28.99. Glendine Girl quickly hit the front and led all the way to win her A4 in 29.39. Liscrea Premier led around the third bend to win her A2 well in 29.02.
16 dogs were put through their paces on the gallop with a couple of new dogs we've got ready to come through looking very impressive.
Kennel legend, Stanton Jerry, left us today as he went to his forever home. Jerry has been a wonderful dog to train and gave us some great times. I'll always remember the night at Hall Green when he won his maiden 480m open race by nearly 9 lengths. I only decided to put Jerry up there that night as an extra runner to keep Superstar Lily company,  her race didn't fill and we had to make the journey with just Jerry in the end but he ran his trademark race as he put the shoulder in at the first and went onto win easily. We all stopped for pizza on the way home and I'm sure Jerry felt like a hero! He had a great night and won well but we decided to leave his open race career at that and he retired with it 100% intact. Jezza has a lovely home now and hopefully we'll all get to see him again on a Sunday.
Thursday 27th
A disappointing night at Henlow as Taranis Rex failed to make it through the first round of their Derby. In all honesty he ran pretty flat but the main thing is he's safe and sound and we'll look for a minor open next time out for him. Our race was won by former kennel dog, Yeatsie Boy, who ran a terrific race to lead all the way. Fingers crossed Yeatsie can go all the way, he's a lovely dog.
Friday 28th
A busy day for the kennel with 3 meeting's to attend.
First we'll go to Nottingham where both Gemstone Jack and Gemstone Annie qualified for the semi finals of the Produce Stakes in 2nd and 3rd respectively. Jack seems to be improving every time he goes round there and ran a good race in defeat again tonight.
Just a couple of winners at Swindon. Winetavern Tadgh got a much deserved win in his A2 as he beat Butchers Bounty in a good 28.87. Hey Rodrigo won his first race back since lameness as he led all the way in his A6. This lad suffers badly from cramping but seems to be going the right way now.
Saturday 29th
2 winners from our 7 runners this evening at Swindon. Ding Hero reversed last week's form with Hiding Escort in the 509m open as he cracked out and led all the way. Henry ran a blinder in behind from a bad draw and is in great form at present.
Penskey Rain and Gemstone Billy ran very well in the 685m open to finish 2nd and 3rd. The 685m on a fast track is a bit sharp for Penskey nowadays but he's still running with great credit at over four years old. Gemstone Billy has taken the step up to open class very well and gives the impression that the further he goes the better he'll get.
Forest Ted won the A1 as he pinged the lids and led all the way to record 28.75. Droopys Harper ran another good race in behind to finish 3rd.
Ring The Alarm ran well in her first race back since season to finish 3rd.
Crinkill Jewel contested the first round of the Kent St Leger at Crayford this evening and safely made it through to the semi finals as she finished 2nd. Crink's had every chance and was beating by a better dog on the night but ran well and should improve further for another look at the track.
Sunday 30th
A great way to end the month with 3 winners from 6 runners at Coventry tonight.
Glenbane Air, who has been in terrific form, got the night off to a flyer as he won division 1 of the sprint. Barney didn't ping this week but ran a very brave 1st bend to push his way through on the rail and went on to win in a photo.
Mullingar Mer quickly made it two winners as she won division 2 of the sprint. Titch as she is known is a real pocket rocket and she broke fairly well tonight and showed great pace going in to the corner to take up the lead. She ran the track very well and really powered off the last bend to win going away in a good 15.91.
Pony Bride was an unlucky loser as she flopped from the boxes and gave herself an awful lot to do. She started to motor going in to the 5th bend but had a wall of dogs in front of her and was forced to check. She rallied again and was only beaten a couple of lengths in the end. She'll be worth sticking with next week now she's had a look round.
Barnish Booth and Inishmore Impact both missed the breaks and got their fair share of trouble as they finished down the field in their respective 485m races.
Slippery Patch completed the night's work though as he won division 3 of the standard. Patch trapped OK but paced up nicely to turn 2nd entering the back straight. He looked for a gap on the rail that wasn't there and got held up in running a little bit but stayed on well enough to win on the line. It was nice to get a first win under his belt and he'll improve greatly for the race.
This completed a brilliant month for us as we finished with 44 winners, 18 of these were in opens.

In other news....
The next BAGS intertrack will soon be upon us. We had great success in the last one and a lot of fun but we're slightly disappointed to only be in a group of 3 with Oxford and Poole this year. Neither track will really suit our type of dog so most of the new dogs we could have rushed through for the the start of the competition will go on to other things now but we should still have a few to put forward if all is well nearer the time. A few possibles could be; Hoots Mon, Boynepark Joe, Sligo Mick, Black Beach, Droopys Harper, Riverdale Spiros, Express Fantasy and Mercurial Lady to name a few.
A few of our nice new dogs will be ready to trial in the next couple of weeks. We've been in no rush with one or two of them but they've been kept ticking over on the gallop and one in particular really does look a bit special.
Portavoe Lass heads to the vets next week for another x-ray on her hock. It's expected that we should get the all clear for her to return to training and the St Leger at Wimbledon would be a possibility if she's ready in time.
