Week Ending 2nd September

Monday 27th
Just the one winner to begin the week with. I Certainly May led all the way in her A3 to record 29.76.
Tuesday 28th
Lady Mission (29.68), Off The Radar (29.34), Bookies Girls (29.42) and Sparkem Out (29.49) all returned to the graded strength following their lay offs. Forest Mollie impressed in her solo sprint trial as she posted 16.35. Mollie has been on the easy list after having her tonsils out so this was a very good effort.
Wednesday 29th
A good night for the kennel with 3 winners from our 8 runners.
Lizzys Bar soon led in his A3 and went on to win very nicely by 5 lengths in a personal best 29.30.
Inismore Impact finally gave us the type of run we've been expecting from him as he flew the lids and won a good quality A2 by 5 1/2 lengths in 28.89. Echo is a lovely dog who starts and stays and should develop into a nice open class dog in the coming months.
Lord Sugar completed the night's work as he led on the run in to win by 1/2 a length in 29.35.
Witcombe Lady and Gortkelly Hudini both ran well in defeat.
Thursday 30th
A trip to the seaside this evening as we took 7 to Hove.
Five Alley Pub and Crinkill Jewel were out of luck in the Charlie Miller stayers final as they finished 4th and 5th.
Mullingar Mer was very unlucky in the maiden sprint open and I think she would have won with a clear run.
Boynepark Joe, Barnish Booth and Pony Bride all ran well in their races but were beaten by better dogs on the night.
Kilmalady Biffo made sure we didn't go home empty handed though as he flew the lids and won a good little sprint race by 3 1/2 lengths in 16.23.
Friday 31st
Another good day for us with winners at Swindon and Romford.
Gemstone Annie continued her excellent recent form as she won a good quality A2 by 3 1/2 lengths in a personal best 29.03. Annie has now won 4 of her last 6 races and is a lovely stayer in the making.
Hoots Mon beat kennel mate Droopys Harper by 3 1/2 lengths in an Intertrack race against Poole. It's been difficult getting runs for Harper of late and he would of needed this blowout but it was nice to see Hoots back to winning ways.
Lady Mission won at the first time of asking since returning from a stress fracture of the hock. Mission always led to win her A3 by 5 lengths in 29.49.
On to Romford where we had 3 runners in the first round of the Champion Stakes. Ding Hero looked back to somewhere near his best as he pinged the lids and led all the way. Ding won by 3 1/4 lengths in 35.72.
Slippery Patch was unlucky in his heat as he looked set to go round in 2nd place before being clipped from behind and losing ground. Patch quickly recovered to get back in to the running but tired coming home and was eliminated. Patch will improve in bundles when we can get some consistent racing in to him.
Hiding Escort ran well to qualify in third place from his heat. He was well beaten by the top class Westmead Maldini but is safely through to the next round.
Saturday 1st September
This was as close to the perfect night as we'll ever get I think! We had 8 runners in 5 races and managed to win all 5, we even got in a couple of forecasts for good measure.
The night got off to a great start as Glenbane Air beat kennel mate Kilmalady Biffo by a neck in the sprint open race. Barney flew the lids and led all the way but was made to work very hard by Biffo who would have won the race if he'd have broken just a little better.
Boozed Aroma led all the way in her A2 as she just held on from kennel mate Liscrea Premier by a head in 29.42.
Taranis Rex was made even money favourite for the 480m open race but it was kennel mate Hey Diego who landed the spoils in great style. Gelert pinged the lids and led all the way to win very impressively by 7 1/2 lengths in a good 28.71. Rex missed the start and took a nasty whack on the bend but flew down the back before tiring coming home. This run would have done him the world of good and I'm sure he'll be back to winning ways soon enough.
Penskey Rain made it a clean sweep of the opens for us this evening as he led on the run in to win the 685m contest by 1/2 length in 41.99.
Bookies Girls completed a great night as she pinged the lids to lead all the way in her A2 to win by 2 lengths in 29.33. This was Brooke's first run back from seasonal rest and she should be better for that run.

In Other News...
Gemstone Jack and Hey Diego both have the Nottingham Produce Stakes coming up and will head there for a trial a week on Monday.
Portavoe Lass is making very good progress as she recovers from her hairline fracture of the hock. We're very hopeful that she'll be back in time for the St Leger.
Crinkill Jewel will more than likely be given a short rest before she heads to Crayford for a crack at the Kent St Leger.
Yeatsie Boy has left the kennel as he was sold for a large sum after winning 4 from 5 opens at Coeventry. Yeatsie is a lovely dog with a bright future and we're sad to see him go but wish him and his new connections the very best of luck.
We were lucky enough to welcome a fantastic new dog to the kennel recently and he's one that should have a very bright future. He'll be given plenty of time to settle in before trialling.
We've another 2 very nice dogs arriving next week, both of whom should make good class open dogs in time.
After our good recent run on the open circuit, we are just 1 winner away from hitting our target of 50 open race winners for the year. We thought this would be a very tough target to hit when we set it but it looks like we should beat it comfortably. We're very lucky to have a great team of hard working staff at the kennel, a brilliant set of loyal and patient owners and a fantastic kennel of dogs.
