Week Ending 1st April
Monday 26th March
Express Fantasy was the star of the show as she made it a hat-trick of wins. Taking the step up to A1 class in her stride she broke quickly from trap 1 and led all the way to win in a personal best 29.05. She's only just 2 years of age and has only had a handful of races. She'll be stepped up to open class soon. Sligo Mick took a nasty fall in the same race and needed a couple of staples in a cut to his front leg. Fortunately it was nothing too serious and he'll make a return soon enough.
Moody Mare got another A3 win under her belt as she just held on to win by a hd in 29.42.
Tuesday 27th
A mixed bag of fortunes at today's trial session.
Forest Faye suffered a cracked hock while going well in her trial. She's now retired from racing and we are in search of a lovely home for this stunning greyhound who will make someone a wonderful companion.
Fancy Collar made his much awaited return to the track after his wrist injury with a hand slip. Pingu really impressed in his trial and took off down the back straight and moved really well. The wrist injury held up perfectly but he's now damaged his toe ligaments and faces another spell on the sidelines.
Kelseys Prince went well in his solo 509m trial recording 30.29. Gemstone Meg completed her trials with a good 29.78 effort. Black Beach (29.39) and Lady Mission (16.89) both returned to the racing strength after both being knocked over last time.
Wednesday 28th
A couple of winners this evening.
Scobys Flash led off the 2nd bend to win her A3 by 3 1/2 lengths in 29.44.
Mercurial Lady pinged the lids and led all the way to make it a hat-trick of wins in A2. She beat kennel mate Coolykereen Lee in 29.30.
Thursday 29th
A trip to Oxford this evening with Kilmalady Biffo and Hoots Mon.
Biffo flopped out in his sprint and hit a wall of dogs at the first bend and had no where to go. It was his first run of the year and would have needed the race sharpness.
Hoots Mon again ran well in deafeat as he finished runner up.
Friday 30th
Just a couple of winners today but we had some very good performances too.
Reagrove Dream led on the run in to win her A5 by a length in 30.05.
Baby Bubba beat kennel mate Black Beach by 1 1/2 lengths in 29.15.
Kelseys Prince made his debut for the kennel this evening in the A1 and ran a massive race. Prince broke fairly well and paced impressively to the bend where he took a big couple of knocks which left him a fair way adrift of the leader. He's moved very well down the back and fairly flew home off the last bend. He was beaten just 3/4 in 28.71 and was miles clear into the drop. He's a long way from being right and he won't be rushed but he looks a very good Leger prospect.
Glenbane Air was taken to Hall Green this evening for a trial in preparation for the Blue Riband and pleased us with his 28.58 effort.
Saturday 31st
Kilmalady Biffo added himself to the recent list of dogs we've had bowled over as he took a tumble in his D1 contest. He'll be stepped up to four bends now.
Gemstone Meg made her racing debut and ran a highly promising race to finish a close up 4th. She looked harshly treated to be graded in A4 with a 29.78 best time but would have won with a bit more luck. She looks another promising pup from this hugely exciting Swift Jade litter.
Her big brother Gemstone Jack won his A2 contest later in the evening in a very good 29.18. Jack was again very slowly away but showed huge pace from halfway to reel in the leaders to win very nicely in the end. He still has an awful lot to learn but could be a bit special in time.

In Other News...
Reagrove Dream, Galley Crash, Tictac Butterfly, Glenbrack Mary, Stanton Sarah and Molly The Second all left the kennel this week and have joined Bob Hannon at Oxford. They have been brilliant racers for the kennel and still have an awful lot more to give but this will now give us kennel space for some exciting youngsters we have lined up to join the team.
Ding Hero who last week ran a stormer to win the final of the Monkey 509er at Swindon heads to Romford on Monday night for the heats of a maiden stayers competition.
Mercurial Star is making good progress from his shoulder injury and should be ready to gallop in 2-3 weeks.
Hiding Escort seems full of beans after his recent blood troubles and is now only a couple of weeks from making a return. We defiantly haven't seen the best of this lad yet.
Portavoe Lass has a solo sprint on Tuesday as she returns from seasonal rest.
March has been the kennel's best ever month as we returned with a huge 49 winners. It'll be impossible to get anywhere near this next month with all the dogs flying up in grade but it has been a massive effort from everyone involved at the kennels. A huge thanks to the team and to all our owners for their continued support.
