Week Ending 29th April
Monday 23rd
Not too much to report from today's meeting. Moody Mare ran a very game race to lead off the last bend to win her A2 in 29.47.
Tuesday 24th
A wasted morning at Swindon as trials were cancelled due to hare failure. We only managed to get 10 trials completed and unfortunately none of our 9 managed to get round.
Wednesday 25th
Just the one winner this evening. Gortkelly Hudini led around the last bend to win his A3 by 1 1/2 lengths in 29.63. Harry has now won 4 of his 10 starts since returning from a lay off.
We received good news about Tommy The Wheel's hock injury. The x-ray this evening showed just a crack of the hock and not a break which was first feared. Although his racing days are over he will have a long and happy retirement.
Thursday 26th
Hiding Escort and Portavoe Lass were given a trial around Hove this evening and delighted us with their efforts. Escort beat Portavoe 1 1/2 lengths in 30.13 which considering the lay off both have had was a terrific effort.
Ding Hero was in the wars in his 515m open tonight as he was very badly crowded on the bend and returned lame. He's sore in his hip and faces around a month off.
Penskey Rain ran a blinder to finish 4th in a very hot 695m open. He's had every chance and was beaten by better dogs on the night but he was only a couple of lengths off his best time around there so we were very pleased with him.
Friday 27th
3 winners from today's meetings.
Der Lone Razor ran a blinder to come from last to first to win his A4 by a shd in 29.54.
Chilli Spring won her A6 at only the second time of asking as she led around the first bend and went on to win by 4 lengths in 30.06. Her sister, Chilli Hot Sauce, made her debut this evening and ran well to finish 4th in the A5.
Moody Mare got her 2nd win in a week as she ran another game race as she led pretty much all the way to win her A2 in 29.37.
Saturday 28th
A welcome night off for the kennel this evening but a busy day as 23 hounds were put through their paces on the gallop. Mercurial Star looks as good as ever as he returns from his torn shoulder as does Forest Ted who has been off around 3 months with a damaged tendon. Crinkill Jewell had her first workout since having her toe removed and went very well.

In Other News...
A busy week ahead for the kennel. We have 13 booked in for trials on Tuesday including the return of Mercurial Star, Forest Ted, Riverdale Spiros and Active Lark.
Kilmalady Biffo and Glenbane Air will both head to Oxford on Thursday. They've been given an easy couple of weeks since both winning there last time out and both have the Pall Mall as their main target.
Portavoe Lass, Hiding Escort, Kelseys Prince and Penskey Rain will all be entered to run at Hove on Thursday and all have the Regency as a possible target. We've been having a lot of trouble with Prince cramping but we are hopefully heading in the right direction now. He's a hugely talented dog who will have a great year if his cramping problems go away.
Superstar Lily has been confirmed in pup to Westmead Hawk and should have her litter in the next few weeks.
Come Home Patch has left the kennel to join the strength at Sunderland while Inismor Impact, Pony Bride and Yeatsie Boy all look like very promising additions.
Also I'll be trying to get to grips with Twitter and post kennel news, trial results and general information. Please follow us at kevhuttonracing.

Week Ending 8th April
Monday 2nd
A brilliant start to the week with 3 good winners at Swindon and Ding Hero in top form at Romford.
Penskey Rain got the day off to a great start with an impressive win in the S1. Pensk paced up better than he has done recently and turned into the back straight within striking distance of Bigwood Honey and Wise Totty and he took it up off the last bend to win going away in a good 41.86.
Liscrea Premier got a much deserved win as she unusually led all the way in her A2. Penny was always going to produce a good run when able to dictate and she won in a decent 29.09.
Flag Officer completed the day's work at Swindon when he led around the 1st bend to win by 1 1/4 lengths in 29.22. Maverick looked much happier drawn nearer the inside and this win would have done him good.
On to Romford this evening for the heats of the Coral on TV Maiden Stayers Trophy over 575m. Ding broke well from trap 3 and showed a very good turn of early pace to lead at the bend, he's stayed every yard of the 575 and gone on to win by 2 3/4 lengths in a very fast 35.38.
Tuesday 3rd
Unraced pups, Chilli Spring (30.39), Hey Diego (29.60), Hey Rodrigo (17.11) and Chilli Hot Sauce (17.16) all delighted us with their trial efforts today.
Portavoe Lass returned from seasonal rest with a 17.18 spin and Boozed Aroma (16.60) was given a pre Easter Bunny spin.
Wednesday 4th
A trip to Hall Green this morning for the 1st round of the Blue Riband with Glenbane Air. After his good trial last week (28.48) we were fairly confident of qualifying for the semi-finals and Barney did us proud as he broke well and led all the way to win by 1 3/4 lengths in 28.40. The going was very poor and testing today but luckily for us it was suiting the railers and Barney came out of the race in great form and will head in to the semi's fit and well.
No luck at this evening's Swindon meeting as Lady Lomasi was the latest of our dogs to be knocked over. Fortunately she returned safe and sound.
Thursday 5th
Hoots Mon made it 3 silver medals on the trot as he again finished 2nd at Oxford this evening. He's running well enough but is just a couple of lengths off of where he needs to be.
Kilmalady Biffo was given a spin before racing and won his trial by nearly 9 lengths in a fast 26.83. This will have done him the world of good after taking a fall in his last race at Swindon.
Friday 6th
Just the 3 runners at today's BAGS meeting as the Easter Bunny finals took centre stage. Boozed Aroma was the kennels only representative and she was a bit unlucky as after taking a flyer from the boxes she was crowded on the bend and shuffled back to last.
Blackie Chan and Moody Mare were both out of luck in their A2.
Ding Hero was made favourite to win the Romford final this evening and he didn't disappoint. Ding showed a lovely turn of early and ran a terrific first bend to turn 2nd to Roxholme Posh and he quickly asserted as he ran a brave third bend to take up the lead. He stayed on strongly for a 2 1/2 length win. This was Ding's 2nd Category 3 win following on from last month's Monkey 509. He's now won 10 of his 19 starts for the kennel.
Saturday 7th
It looked as though it was going to be one of those night's as our first 5 runners all finished 2nd (including the race where we had 2 runners!). However, Malbay Kesha made sure we didn't go home empty handed as she led all the way to win her A2 in 29.39.
Special mention of Gemstone Jack who ran his best race so far as he was beaten just a short head in a good A2 contest. Jack showed he is learning all the time now and it's very exciting to think he isn't 2 years of age until September!

Week Ending 1st April
Monday 26th March
Express Fantasy was the star of the show as she made it a hat-trick of wins. Taking the step up to A1 class in her stride she broke quickly from trap 1 and led all the way to win in a personal best 29.05. She's only just 2 years of age and has only had a handful of races. She'll be stepped up to open class soon. Sligo Mick took a nasty fall in the same race and needed a couple of staples in a cut to his front leg. Fortunately it was nothing too serious and he'll make a return soon enough.
Moody Mare got another A3 win under her belt as she just held on to win by a hd in 29.42.
Tuesday 27th
A mixed bag of fortunes at today's trial session.
Forest Faye suffered a cracked hock while going well in her trial. She's now retired from racing and we are in search of a lovely home for this stunning greyhound who will make someone a wonderful companion.
Fancy Collar made his much awaited return to the track after his wrist injury with a hand slip. Pingu really impressed in his trial and took off down the back straight and moved really well. The wrist injury held up perfectly but he's now damaged his toe ligaments and faces another spell on the sidelines.
Kelseys Prince went well in his solo 509m trial recording 30.29. Gemstone Meg completed her trials with a good 29.78 effort. Black Beach (29.39) and Lady Mission (16.89) both returned to the racing strength after both being knocked over last time.
Wednesday 28th
A couple of winners this evening.
Scobys Flash led off the 2nd bend to win her A3 by 3 1/2 lengths in 29.44.
Mercurial Lady pinged the lids and led all the way to make it a hat-trick of wins in A2. She beat kennel mate Coolykereen Lee in 29.30.
Thursday 29th
A trip to Oxford this evening with Kilmalady Biffo and Hoots Mon.
Biffo flopped out in his sprint and hit a wall of dogs at the first bend and had no where to go. It was his first run of the year and would have needed the race sharpness.
Hoots Mon again ran well in deafeat as he finished runner up.
Friday 30th
Just a couple of winners today but we had some very good performances too.
Reagrove Dream led on the run in to win her A5 by a length in 30.05.
Baby Bubba beat kennel mate Black Beach by 1 1/2 lengths in 29.15.
Kelseys Prince made his debut for the kennel this evening in the A1 and ran a massive race. Prince broke fairly well and paced impressively to the bend where he took a big couple of knocks which left him a fair way adrift of the leader. He's moved very well down the back and fairly flew home off the last bend. He was beaten just 3/4 in 28.71 and was miles clear into the drop. He's a long way from being right and he won't be rushed but he looks a very good Leger prospect.
Glenbane Air was taken to Hall Green this evening for a trial in preparation for the Blue Riband and pleased us with his 28.58 effort.
Saturday 31st
Kilmalady Biffo added himself to the recent list of dogs we've had bowled over as he took a tumble in his D1 contest. He'll be stepped up to four bends now.
Gemstone Meg made her racing debut and ran a highly promising race to finish a close up 4th. She looked harshly treated to be graded in A4 with a 29.78 best time but would have won with a bit more luck. She looks another promising pup from this hugely exciting Swift Jade litter.
Her big brother Gemstone Jack won his A2 contest later in the evening in a very good 29.18. Jack was again very slowly away but showed huge pace from halfway to reel in the leaders to win very nicely in the end. He still has an awful lot to learn but could be a bit special in time.

In Other News...
Reagrove Dream, Galley Crash, Tictac Butterfly, Glenbrack Mary, Stanton Sarah and Molly The Second all left the kennel this week and have joined Bob Hannon at Oxford. They have been brilliant racers for the kennel and still have an awful lot more to give but this will now give us kennel space for some exciting youngsters we have lined up to join the team.
Ding Hero who last week ran a stormer to win the final of the Monkey 509er at Swindon heads to Romford on Monday night for the heats of a maiden stayers competition.
Mercurial Star is making good progress from his shoulder injury and should be ready to gallop in 2-3 weeks.
Hiding Escort seems full of beans after his recent blood troubles and is now only a couple of weeks from making a return. We defiantly haven't seen the best of this lad yet.
Portavoe Lass has a solo sprint on Tuesday as she returns from seasonal rest.
March has been the kennel's best ever month as we returned with a huge 49 winners. It'll be impossible to get anywhere near this next month with all the dogs flying up in grade but it has been a massive effort from everyone involved at the kennels. A huge thanks to the team and to all our owners for their continued support.
