Week Ending 18th March
Monday 12th
A very good start to what would end up being a terrific week.
3 winners from our 8 runners at today.
Express Fantasy was the star of the show as she broke much better and paced up well in her A3. She led at the half way point and went on to win in a personal best 29.10. Fantasy has now won 2 of her 6 races but struggles to get regular runs, she'll be a lovely bitch in time.
Blackie Chan made it 2 wins on the spin as he led at the 3rd turn to win his A3 in 29.30.
Fishersmans Leah also made it 2 wins on the spin as she beat kennel mate Noels Touch by 3/4 in a personal best 29.15.
Tuesday 13th
A fairly quiet trial session for the kennel with just 4 dogs going through their paces.
Exciting new stayer Kelseys Prince won his trial by a shade over 5 lengths in a fastest of the day 28.83. Prince cramped off the last bend and is taking a while to properly settle in. He'll trial again next week but won't be rushed into racing.
Kilmalady Biffo returned to the track after a couple of months off and recorded a smart 16.26. He's bouncing after his trial and will have another spin next week.
Nags Head also returned after a lengthy injury lay off and pleased us with his 16.91 effort.
Gemstone Meg posted a very good 16.93 after having a couple of weeks off with a niggle.
Wednesday 14th
2 winners this evening from our 7 runners.
Moody Mare ran a very game race to just hold on in her A3. She won in 29.60.
Baby Bubba made it 3 wins from his last 4 races as he led all the way in his A2 to win in 29.20.
Ding Hero ran a brilliant race to finish 2nd in his heat of the Monkey 509 competition. Ding missed the kick but made up a lot of ground to just be beaten on the line. He's not got the kindest of draws in the final and will need to smash the lids.
Friday 16th
Another good day with 4 winners.
Der Lone Razor made up plenty of ground as he led on the line to win his A3 in 29.70.
Coolykereen Lee ran a very gutsy race as he overcame a fair bit of crowding to win his A2 in 29.34. This big youngster is desperate for some regular runs and will make a lovely dog in time.
Gemstone Annie ran a very clever first bend to avoid a wall of dogs to lead off the 2nd to win her A4 very nicely in a good 29.44. This was only her 3rd ever race and she looks a terrific prospect.
Gemstone Jack also won at the third time of asking as he ran a brilliant race to win in 29.41. He managed to break slightly better and paced up very well to turn closer than he ever has done. The turbo kicked in down the back straight and he led at the last bend to win going away. He's a hugely promising youngster.
Penskey Rain is well worth a mention as he ran a blinder to finish 2nd in his A2. hopefully he won't be long in winning again.
Saturday 17th
A perfect night as we managed to win every race we were involved in.
Kennel legend, Stanton Jerry started the night off well as he led around the first turn to win his D2 contest by 3 1/4 lengths in 16.55.
Ring The Alarm ran her best race so far as she won her A6 by 2 3/4 lengths in a personal best 29.59. Suzie did well to hold her ground on the run to the bend and turned handy off the 2nd to make it a perfect weekend for the Swift Jade pups.
Mercurial Lady pinged the lids to beat kennel mate Tictac Butterfly by 1 1/4 lengths in 29.23. Molly has ran well since returning from injury and is a difficult bitch to pass once in front.
Lady Lomasi completed the night as she led around the 3rd bend to win her A2 in 29.41.
Nags Head and Lady Mission both join the racing strength after trialling well before racing.

In Other News.....
Lots to look forward to next week with the start of the Easter Bunny competition on Monday. We have Boozed Aroma, Riverdale Spiros, Sligo Mick, Noels Touch and Crinkill Jewel all representing us. Fingers crossed we can get a few through to the finals on Friday.
Hiding Escort faces around 5 weeks on the easy list as his blood results returned all wrong. Henry should be a much better dog than his recent form suggests and it's nice to know we've hopefully found the reason why.
Active Lark tore a shoulder on Wednesday evening and will have around a month off.
Kelseys Prince, Gemstone Mag, Kilmalady Biffo, Forest Faye, Gemstone Billy and Galley Crash are all booked for trials on Tuesday.

Week Ending 11th March
Monday 5th
Not a bad start to the week with most of the dogs running well today.
Baby Bubba ran well to come from behind to win his A2 in 29.37.
Tuesday 6th
No trials today due to the Sky meeting on Thursday night. We made good use of the day as 26 hounds were put through their paces on the gallop.
Wednesday 7th
A good night for the kennel with 3 winners.
Blackie Chan won his first race in 21 attempts as he ran gamely to win his A4 in 29.81.
Sligo Mick flew the lids to win a good A2 by 3 1/4 lengths in a personal best 29.10. This was his 2nd win from 5 races and he's a possible entry for the upcoming Easter Bunny comp.
Professor Deejay completed the night's work with a battling performance to win his A2 by 3 lengths in 29.43. Boynepark Joe ran well enough to finish 2nd in the same race.
Thursday 8th
Tonight was Arc finals night at Swindon. We had 3 dogs running on the Sky card. Ding Hero was very unlucky as he just failed to make it around the bend unscathed. He took a nasty whack from the 1 dog and was knocked out of contention. Thankfully he returned safe and sound and will head back to Swindon next week for the 509m monkey race.
Penskey Rain ran well to finish 3rd in his 737m race while Hiding Escort was a bit disappointing in his 685m race as he again failed to really stay the trip. He'll be going to the vets next week for some blood tests to see if somethings amiss.
Tommy The Wheel ran very well to finish 3rd in his A1 and looks to be returning to form.
Friday 9th
A terrific day as we returned with 6 winners.
Scobys Flash just got the better of kennel mate I Certainly May by a nk to win the A3 in 29.69.
Bramley Bella got another win as she led off the 2nd bend to win her A4 by 1 1/2 in 29.67.
Glenbrack Mary led on the run in to win her A4 by 1/2 a length in 29.75.
Boozed Aroma made it 2 wins on the trot since returning from lameness as she missed the trouble on the bend to win her A3 by 5 1/4 lengths in 29.36.
Gortkelly Hudini led all the way in his A4 to win by a length in 29.64.
Crinkill Jewel completed the day's work with her first win for the kennel. She led at the 3rd turn to win well by 3 1/4 lengths in 29.24. Hopefully she will be our 6 bend dog for the Easter Bunny comp if we can get another graded run into her before the 19th.
Saturday 10th
A fairly quiet night with only 5 runners. Riverdale Spiros was the star of the show as he won his A2 impressively by 2 1/2 lengths in a personal best 29.03. This was Ricky's 5th graded race and he'll be our main contender for the standard division of the Easter Bunny comp.
In Other News.....
Kilmalady Biffo has been galloping well at home after lameness and heads to Swindon for his first sprint trial on Tuesday. He'll be a nice dog to have for the D1's.
Kelseys Prince, Gemstone Meg and Nags Head are also due for trials Tuesday.

Sunday, 4 March 2012

Week Ending 4th March
Monday 27th February
Not too much to report from today's meeting. Moody Mare ran well to finish 2nd in her A3.
Tuesday 28th
Mercurial Lady who has been out of action since finishing lame in the Hall Green leg of the National Intertrack competition returned today with a 29.56 workout.
Lady Lomasi (29.49) and Gortkelly Hudini (29.72) both returned to the graded strength.
Recent arrival, Kelseys Prince, moved well enough in his first sprint to record 16.66. He gave the impression he'd find plenty of time for the look round and flew into the pick up. His Shelbourne Park Novice 750m victory form was franked later in the week when Razldazl Marilyn won impressively on the Wimbledon Sky Card. Prince beat her in the Shelbourne race.
Wednesday 29th
A good night for the kennel with a couple of winners. Fishersmans Leah won very well in her A3. She led around the first and went on to score by 5 1/4 lengths in 29.22.
Bramley Bella ran another game race as she just got up on the line to win her A4 in 29.84.
Effernogue Load and Professor Deejay both ran good races to finish 2nd.
At the vets earlier in the day Mercurial Star was found to have a small shoulder tear and faces a month on the easy list.
Friday 2nd March
Another really good day for the kennel ended with 4 winners.
Ding Hero got the afternoon off to a great start as he won his 509m Open. Ding flew the lids again and had a real buckle upfront with the evergreen Burwood Freddie. We just prevailed by a shd in 30.22. Ding has been in great form and is a hopeful running on Arc finals night.
Ding's kennel mate, Molly The Second, also ran a blinder to get up on the line to win her A2 by a shd in 29.26.
Liscrea Premier disputed the lead for much of the race before staying on well to win her A2 by 1/2 length.
Active Lark flew the lids and made her 8/1 odds look hugely generous as she led all the way for a 3 length victory in her A2. She's recorded a personal best of 28.89 and is a possible runner for the Easter Bunny series coming up.
Saturday 3rd
A terrific night for us as we returned with 4 winners from this evening's meeting.
Come Home Patch started the night off really well with an all the way win in his A8. He needed a confidence boosting run and this would have done him the world of good to get back on the bunny.
We were over the moon to get our first winner for the Robson family tonight with Swift Jades puppy, Ring The Alarm. Suzie as she is known worked really hard to win in only her 2nd ever start as she stayed on very strongly in her A7 in 30.04.
Boozed Aroma led all the way in her first race back from a lengthy lay off. She pinged the lids to win nicely in 29.50.
Sparkem Out ran a great race to win her S2 by 1/2 a length in 42.57. Wiglet has bounced back to form well recently and looked back to somewhere near her best. She's a very game bitch who never knows when she's beaten.
Gemstone Jack made his debut this evening and ran with huge promise to say the least. Jack flopped from the lids and suffered some bad crowding on the first bend which left him in a hopeless position entering the back straight some 12 lengths behind the leaders. He kicked the turbo in approaching the third bend and made a massive amount of ground up to get within a length of the winner to finish 3rd. He looks to get better the further he goes and went well clear in to the drop. A great effort from a hugely exciting puppy.
Tommy The Wheel ran a much improved race to finish 3rd in his A1.

In Other News....
Fancy Collar continues to make good progress as we step up his work ready for a return to racing. Pingu has galloped well and his wrist injury has held up perfectly so far.
Portavoe Lass is in great form at home as she approaches 5 weeks out of season. We are all very much looking forward to her returning to action.
Former kennel star, Superstar Lily, is due a mating anytime now with Dual Derby winner Westmead Hawk. Hopefully everything will all work out well and we can look forward to training some Megan pups in the future.
