Week Ending 29th January
Monday 23rd
A cracking start to the week with 3 winners.
Come Home Patch won his A7 in 30.13 by a hd.
Malbay Kesha got her first A2 win as she won by 1/2 a length in 29.40.
Bramley Bella soon led in her A4 to win by 2 3/4 lengths in 29.56.
Tuesday 24th
A busy trial session with 9 hounds going through their paces.
Ding Hero recorded a fastest of the day 28.66 as he delighted us with his first four bend workout out in a while.
Mercurial Star (29.13) and Sligo Mick (29.66) both moved well in their trials.
Boynepark Joe (16.76), Hoots Mon (16.32), Razldazl Dazl (16.64) and Riverdale Spiros ( 16.46) all went very well in their sprints.
Wednesday 25th
Reagrove Dream continued her good form with a 1/2 length win in her A4.
Black Beach made it 5 wins from his last 8 starts as he won his A2 by 1 1/4 lengths in 29.40.
Thursday 26th
We were out of luck at Hove this evening with our 3 runners.
Crinkill Jewell ran a terrific race to only be beaten a hd on the line in her 695m open. She'll be heading back next week for another go.
Hiding Escort completed his qualifying trials with a good 30.12. Henry took a whack on the corner so this was a very good effort. He'll make his debut in a race there next week.
Friday 27th
3 winners from today's meetings.
Der Lone Razor made it 5 wins from his last 6 races as he won A3 at the first time of asking. Spud won by a hd in 29.82.
Liscrea Premier won her A2 in a good 29.15 by a length.
Molly The Second ran a blinder to win a decent A2 contest in 29.34.
Saturday 28th
Just the one winner this evening. Sligo Mick won his debut race for the kennel in a good 29.19. Mick trapped better than in his trials and went on to win nicely in his A3. He's a lovely prospect.

In other news.....
Ding Hero, Mercurial Star and Glenbane Air will all head to Swindon on Wednesday for the Arc trial stakes.
Crinkill Jewell, Lady Jaro, Hoots Mon and Hiding Escort will all be in action at Hove on Thursday.
Portavoe Lass will miss the Golden Jacket after breaking into season.

Week Ending 22nd January
Monday 16th
A couple of winners to start the week with. Reagrove Dream ran a cracker to win her A5 in 29.78.
Effernogue Load continued his good recent form with a 1 1/2 length win in his A3. He recorded 29.26 and has done really well to work his way back up from A5.
Tuesday 17th
A busy and fairly successful trial day with 11 going through their paces.
Glenbrack Mary (43.02), Oddson Whiskey (42.46) and Sparkem Out (42.78) all qualified for the stayers trip today.
Sligo Mick overcame a stumble at the boxes to win his trial in 29.79.
Bramley Leah remains just outside of grading with her 30.90 effort today but she will hopefully improve with the work she's having.
Professor Dee Jay went really well to record 29.17 in his first 4 bend outing while Hiding Escort was hugely impressive as he stopped the clock at 28.93 first time round.
Mercurial Star moved soundly as he recorded a good 16.48 in his comeback sprint.
Ding Hero ran a lovely trial as he returned to the track for the first time since being bowled over at Hove to record 16.46. He was beaten a length by the impressive Hoots Mon.
Finally, Razldazl Dazl had his first sprint trial since breaking his hock at Hove and moved pretty well. Lauro recorded 16.63 and returned safe and sound.
Wednesday 18th
Portavoe Lass very nearly gave the kennel our first Sky winner as she was beaten the shortest of short heads on the line in her 750m marathon at Romford. It was a top class field and considering that was only her fourth UK start it was a brilliant run by our girl to push the recent Prestige winner, Express Trend all the way. All being well she'll now head to Crayford for the Golden Jacket....if she doesn't break in season first.
Forest Ted qualified for the Monkey 509er final as he finished runner up in his heat. Lady Jaro ran a good race again and finished 3rd. In fact she was the third quickest dog in the whole comp but still failed to qualify.
Black Beach gave us our only winner of the night as he won his A2 nicely by 3 3/4 lengths in 29.43.
Friday 20th
We had 3 winners from today's meetings.
Flag Officer showed terrific early and rode a bit of first bend bumping to win a good A2 well in 29.14. Every run we get with this lad is a bonus and he's done brilliantly well since returning from a lay off.
Kennel legend Stanton Jerry got his first win since he suffered a very nasty wrist and stifle injury when just getting up on the line in his D2 contest. Jerry will be trialling back over 4 bends again soon but is enjoying his sprint racing at the moment.
Coolykereen Lee surprised us all with a foot perfect display in his A2. The big puppy trapped well and paced up nicely to the corner and stayed the trip very strongly to win comfortably in a good 28.89. This was only his second ever race and I cant remember having a faster pup at this stage. He could be anything this lad and will be very interesting to see how he progresses.
Saturday 21st
Glenbane Air completed his qualifying trials with a decent 29.08 workout. Penskey Rain (29.30) and Professor Dee Jay (29.36) also moved well.
Express Fantasy was a very short priced favourite to win her A4 contest and she didn't disappoint. Fanta trapped well and showed nice early to lead at the bend and went away to win nicely by 3 1/4 lengths in 29.41. She's only had a few races in her life but runs a great bend and she's certainly one to look forward too.
Der Lone Razor made it 3 wins from 4 starts since returning from a rest as he won his A4 by 8 1/2 lengths in a personal best 29.47. Spud broke a lot better tonight and just missed all the trouble on the bend but he's learning his trade well now.

In other news....
Another busy trial day ahead with Ding Hero and Mercurial Star stepping up to four bends. Boynepark Joe and Riverdale Spiros will return to action after their lay offs with a sprint.
Hiding Escort will head to Hove on Thursday night for his last qualifying trial. He'll more than likely make his debut there the following week.
Crinkill Jewell and Lady Jaro will hopefully join him at Hove for 695m and 475m opens respectively.
The Swift Jade pups continue to school well and will head to Swindon in the next couple of weeks.

Sunday, 15 January 2012

Week Ending 15th January
Monday 9th
Not a bad start to the week with a couple of winners.
Oddson Whiskey continued her good recent form with a 2 1/4 length win in her A5. She recorded a personal best 29.46 and will have a 6 bend trial on Tuesday.
Baby Bubba flew the lids and led all the way in his A2 to win by 2 lengths in a good 29.08.
Tuesday 10th
A busy trial day with 11 going through their paces.
Coolykereen Lee clocked 29.43 in a solo trial which confirms that last week's calculated time of 28.54 was a million miles off the mark.
Dance Izzy (29.48) and Oneco Light (29.80) both returned to the graded strength.
Sligo Mick impressed in his first trial clocking 16.56. Professor Dee Jay (16.67), Hoots Mon (16.51), Glenbane Air (16.66) and Hiding Escort (16.56) all went very well in their first looks.
Wednesday 11th
Lady Jaro proved the star of the show tonight as she pinged the lids and led all the way to win her 480m open in a good 28.85. She's been a brilliant bitch for the kennel and seems to be getting better with age. She'll head to the breeding paddocks when her racing days are over.
Forest Ted took a nasty tumble in his 509m open but thankfully checked out OK the next day. He'd nearly made it around the bend in front but the 1 dog moved off and badly hampered him.
Crinkill Jewell ran a blinder to finish 2nd in her 685m open. She had every chance and was beaten fair and square by a better dog on the night but this was only her 2nd UK start and will improve for the run. She's recorded a good 41.79 and looks like she'll stay all day.
Friday 13th
Forest Crash continued his good form with a hd win in his A3. He won today in 29.80.
Noels Touch made it 5 wins from his last 11 starts with a gutsy performance in his S2. He worked really hard to make his way to the front after missing the kick and hung on gamely to win in 42.33.
Express Fantasy ran well on debut to only be beaten a length in her A4. She's recorded 29.55 and will have learnt plenty from that outing.
Saturday 14th
Not a bad night in the end with 2 winners from our 7 winners.
Der Lone Razor ran a cracking race to make it 2 wins from 3 since returning from a break. Spud broke better and paced up to the bend well and the writing looked on the wall out of the 2nd bend as he turned a close up third. He powered home for a 2 3/4 length win in 29.79.
Motor Home got a much deserved win in her A2 as she led out of the 2nd bend to win by 2 3/4 lengths in 29.28. She had gone 15 A2 races without tasting success so it was great to see her get her head in front.
The bookmakers clearly shared our view that Coolykereen Lee's trial was very suspect as he was sent off a massive 16/1 in his first ever race.It was a huge ask of a novice pup and he predictably trailed the field in last place.

In other news...
Portavoe Lass and Crinkill Jewell will be entered for Sky night at Romford on Wednesday.
Forest Ted and Lady Jaro will hopefully both be in action at Swindon Wednesday night in their 509 Monkey comp.
A busy trial day ahead with 11 booked in for workouts including the return to action of Mercurial Star, Razldazl Dazl and Ding Hero.
Stanton Bluebell left the kennel today to start her retired life with Jeff and Bev. She'll hopefully have a litter of pups in the future which will be great fun. Bluebell was a terrific bitch for the kennel and possessed some serious early pace.

SLIGO MICK
******* 2 shares remaining *******
We only have 2 shares now remaining in this open class prospect.
Mick is a Feb 10 puppy who's only had a handful of races, winning first time
up at Shelbourne Park in a good 29.13.
His latest form line in Ireland was a fantastic 28.78 Limerick trial.
He's a beautiful looking lad and he'll have his first UK trial at Swindon on Tuesday.
He's available at just £400 a share.
For more info contact Kevin on 07969 021 565
Week Ending 8th January
Monday 2nd
It's always nice to get the first winner of a new year out of the way and we didn't have to wait long as Reagrove Dream won her A5 by a length in 29.96.
Effernogue Load and Molly The Second both ran well in defeat.
Tuesday 3rd
An interesting trial day to say the least and one that probably left us with more questions than answers. It was an awfully wet and windy day and the track was in dreadful condition.
Unraced pup, Coolykereen Lee, moved well in his trial as he led going in to the first bend to beat Crinkill Jewell by a couple of lengths with Express Fantasy a long way back in third. The calculated time has been given as 28.54 which is very difficult to believe as that means he's found over a second in a couple of weeks. This fellow will trial again next week so it'll be interesting to see what he does. I'm very much hoping he can repeat this run but either way he still looks a very good prospect.
Wednesday 4th
A good night for the kennel as all the dogs ran really well.
Forest Ted got another A1 win under his belt as he ran a superb first bend to muscle World Charm out of it. He went on to win by 4 lengths in a personal best time 28.83.
Oddson Whiskey ran a really game race to win her A5 by the shortest of margins in 29.73. She's done well since joining the kennel from Romford and will appreciate a step up to the 685m trip.
I Certainly May completed the night's work as she led off the last bend to win her A4 in 29.59.
Flag Officer, Forest Crash and Moody Mare all ran really well in defeat.
Friday 6th
A couple of winners at this afternoons meeting. Butchers Bounty led all the way in his A2 to record 29.33. This was an owners bonus series race so Butch moves on to next week's final. He'll be joined by Molly The Second who lived up to her pet name 'Molly Always Second' as she again finished runner up in the other heat.
Black Beach made it 3 wins from 11 starts with a gutsy display to win his A2 in 29.47.
Portavoe Lass made it 2 wins from 3 starts as she won her 750m maiden open race at Romford in great style. She led on the first lap and won by 5 1/2 lengths in 47.78. She'll now be aimed at a one off Sky race at Romford before heading to Crayford for the Golden Jacket.

In other news...
The kennel welcomed 3 exciting new recruits this week. Hiding Escort has some terrific form in Ireland and looks a very good staying prospect. He's only a length off of Portavoe Lass's Drumbo Park run and could have a big year but he won't be rushed.
Glenbane Air has some massive runs on his Irish card including a flying 28.49 Drumbo. All being well he'll head straight for the Swindon Arc.
Hoots Mon has a few Irish open wins and looks a lovely prospect to have for sprint and short 4 bend opens. It's a massively exciting time for the kennel.
Mercurial Star has been galloping well at home and heads to Swindon on Tuesday for a solo sprint.
Ding Hero has been enjoying his break and is in great form at home. He'll be going to Swindon the following week for a solo sprint. All being well he'll have a crack at the Arc as well.
Forest Ted, Lady Jaro and Crinkill Jewell will hopefully all be in open race action at Swindon on Wednesday.

Sunday, 1 January 2012

Week Ending 1st January 2012
Monday 26th
Not much to report from today's meeting as we pretty much got what we thought as we returned empty handed.
Tuesday 27th
No trials today due to the bank holiday and with the loss of a couple of Saturday night meetings the gallop has been very busy. During this week it's been used on 63 occasions and is in lovely condition. Mercurial Star continues to work well on his return from injury. So long as the weather is kind to us and the track improves, he'll head to Swindon soon for a trial as we get him ready for a crack at the Arc once again.
Wednesday 28th
Another poor night at Swindon as we didn't manage a winner from our 9 runners.
Today, Coolykereen Jig, was taken home by his owners after being retired from racing due to his gracilis injury. Jiggy managed a good 9 wins from his 53 winners and will have a great retirement.
Thursday 29th
Portavoe Lass was the star of the show for the kennel this evening at Hove. She ran out a very impressive winner of a 695m maiden open in a good 41.63. She won going away by 4 1/2 lengths and was full of running into the drop. It was another horrible wet night and the going on the inside was not great so this was a superb effort by her in only her 2nd UK race. She'll head to Romford next week for a maiden marathon.
Penskey Rain ran well in a very hot open over the 695m trip but again it looked liked he needs further nowadays and he's another who will head to Romford next week for a marathon.
Kilmalady Biffo again ran well in defeat after missing the break but he's returned with a few niggles and will be given a month's rest. He's been on the go for a while now so it'll do him good to have a break.
Friday 30th
A couple of winners from today's meetings. Butchers Bounty just got the better of a very unlucky kennel mate Noels Touch by a nk in 29.70.
Der Lone Razor ran a blinder to win on his first race back from a spell off. Spud was crowded all the way on the run up and around the corner and found himself plum last at the second bend but he plugged away and made a tremendous amount of ground up to win by 3/4 of a length in 29.93. He was full of running into the pick up and looks a stayer in the making.
