Week Ending 17th September
Monday 12thJust the one winner from today as Adamant Yankee led all the way in his A2 to record 29.38.
Tuesday 13th
A busy day with 9 dogs going for sprint trials including 8 of the new batch from Limerick.
Ding Hero really pleased me with his 16.29 solo workout. He was full of running into the drop and will be stepped up to four bends next week.
Flag Officer looked the pick of the new dogs as he recorded a very decent 16.42. He didn't run the track very well either and looks a really nice prospect.
Wednesday 14th
The brilliant Forest Ted won yet another 509m open as he led around the bend and just held on to win in 30.58. Teddy has now won 9 of his last 13 races including 5 of his 8 open races to date.
Kilmalady Biffo ran a cracking race to win his A2 in 29.03. He beat kennel mate Liscrea Premier by 1/2 a length after showing superb pace to the third bend. He'll be heading down to Hove in the next week or two for a maiden.
Friday 16th
3 winners from today. Rusty Lisa led all the way in her A5 to win in 29.85. Baby Bubba soon led in his A3 to win in 29.40 and Mercurial Lady beat Springlawn Jacko a hd in 29.26.
Saturday 17th
A terrific night for the kennel as the dogs all ran their hearts out for us.
To Wimbledon first where Superstar Lily and Penskey Rain both ran in the first round of the St Leger. Megan finished a very good runner up to the fastest time of the night and safely qualified for the next round. Megan turned out to be the second quickest dog in the competition on the night. Penskey Rain ran a really good race to finish 3rd in his heat. He certainly needed the race as he hadn't run for two months and will improve for the blow. We have been given some really hard heats but are delighted to be able to take our chance in the quarter finals.
The feature race at Swindon was a good quality A1 where we had both Tommy The Wheel and Mercurial Star running. The complete rest we gave to Mercurial certainly did the trick as he flew the lids to win in a fast 28.55. Tommy ran a blinder to finish as runner up and pushed Sammy all the way. A great effort by the boys.
