Week ending 25th September
Tuesday 20thA busy trial morning with 14 dogs going through their paces. Flag Officer pleased with his 29.30 effort. Ding Hero faded badly off the last bend in his first 480m trial for over 3 months but still recorded 29.12. He'll improve nicely for that run though.
The remainder of the 'Limerick Gang' went brilliantly well in their first 4 bend trials. Malbay Kesha (29.77), Scobys Flash (29.87), Fishersmans Leah (29.85), Gortkelly Hudini (29.97), Der Lone Razor (30.26), Black Beach (29.61) and Nags Head (29.91).
Wednesday 21st
Rusty Lisa led all the way in her A5 to win in 29.89 while Master Rock, I Certainly May and Sunvalley Crash all had to settle for silver medals.
Friday 22nd
First to Wimbledon where Superstar Lily and Penskey Rain were contesting the Quarter Finals of the St Leger. Megan who had posted a quick time in the first round went out of the competition as she finished last in her race. She got slightly crowded on the bend but showed little afterwards. She has now been retired to the breeding paddocks after finishing sore again. Megan has been a great bitch for us and has given us an awful lot of fun. Fingers crossed she will produce some pups as good as she was. There was better news for Penskey though as he ran a blinder to finish 2nd in his race. Pensk improved massively from last week and thoroughly deserves his shot in the semi final. We've a 5 dog race as well on Tuesday so we are all keeping everything crossed that he can make the final. It would be a dream come true to get there.
At Swindon Tommy The Wheel notched another A1 win as he led at the third bend to win going away in 28.97. Forest Ted finished 5th in the same race after having a very troubled run. Teddy boy has ripped a dew claw out and sustained a nasty spike between two of his back toes so he faces a 2 or 3 weeks on the easy list.
Saturday 24th
Kilmalady Biffo was the star of the show tonight as he made it a hat trick of wins with a brilliant win in the A1. Biffo flew the lids to record a stunning 2.27 sectional and led every yard of the way to win in 28.86. He'll be heading off to Hove on Thursday for a maiden open.
