Week ending 27th Feb
Monday 21st
A steady start to the week with two winners.
Butchers Bounty led all the way to win his A3 in 29.51. He's been a fantastic dog for the kennel and has now won 10 of his 27 starts.
Kennel sweetheart I Certainly May flew the lids and led all the way in her A3, she recorded 29.71 and has now won 11 of her 51 races.
Noels Touch took a nasty fall in his race but luckily returned home none the worse for it. It was a shame for that to happen as Noels had been in great form recently. Hopefully it won't dent his confidence.
Wednesday 23rd
No winners from this evening's meeting.
Calling Beauty and Drive On Diva both ran well to finish 2nd in their races.
Superstar Lily ran a disappointing race in her 685 open. She was crowded throughout but showed very little to be honest. It was in stark contrast from her trials which had been fantastic. However trials and races are two very different things and she certainly would have needed the run. She'll be kept up in her work and will possibly be heading to Brighton next week.
Mercurial Star ran a blinder in his first race back since November as he was beaten only 3 1/2 lengths by last years Arc winner Farloe Titan. Sammy was crowded on the first and just seemed to lose his footing at the third turn but stayed on well. He returned in good form and I'm sure will run better again next week.
Friday 25th
Not much luck at the afternoon meeting with Hell Razor taking a very nasty fall on the bend. It was a horrible looking race on paper and as every dog went to the bend together it looked as if something would have to give. Unfortunately it was Razor who came off worse. Thankfully he came back safe and sound but will be given a short break now as he's been on the go for a long time and deserves a rest. Stanton Subaru who also got mullered at the bend in the same race ran on very strongly and will also be heading to Brighton next week for a 695 maiden.
We did however have a good evening meeting as we returned with 3 winners.
Mercurial Lady having only her third ever race and her first in four months broke well in her A3 and looked very impressive as she strode out down the back to go well clear. She tired coming home but that was only to be expected. She still won by nearly 4 lengths in a personal best 29.14. This was some run from this girl tonight and if she stays injury free I'm convinced she will make open class.
Penskey Rain ran a fantastic race as he picked up kennel mate Forest Crash right on the line to win the A2 in 29.22. Pensk came from nowhere to win and was a mile clear at the drop. He's bred to stay all day and is a brother to the flying Penskey John. He'll be stepped up in trip and will hopefully get a run over Brighton's 740m next week.
Bookies Girls made it 3 wins from her last 4 starts as she again flew the lids to lead all the way in her A2. She recorded a personal best 29.03 and has now won 13 of her 33 races.
Saturday 26th
Three 2nds and a winner from tonight's meeting.
Kileline Rambler, Stanton Jerry and Darth Razor all ran very well in defeat while Backlane Belle led all the way in her A3 to win in 29.42.
