11 dogs today were sent to Swindon for trials. Our 7 Cork recruits had their first 480m trials and all qualified nicely.
Queue Pea Are (30.05), Stanton Bluebell (29.46), Stanton Buddy (29.47) and Stanton Ollie (30.18) all returned to the racing strength after their lay offs.
Wednesday 14th
A fairly good night returned two winners. Stanton Jerry came from behind to win his A2 in game style. He won in 29.27.
Well Lilly completed her hat trick in style when coming from off the pace to win her A1 in 29.11. She's marched through the grades from A3 in recent weeks. She'll hope fully run in a 685m Open at Swindon next Wednesday which will qualify her for the stayers trip.
Youngster, Forest Jessie suffered a bad fall in only her 4th start but fortunately returned home safe and sound.
Friday 16th
We only had runners at the BAGS meeting today but still returned with a couple of winners. Ashby Crown has been a good servant over the last couple of years and dead heated in his A2. He recorded 29.29.
Ling won another A2 with a typically gutsy performance. She won in 29.30 has has done the kennel proud since joining us.
Young pup, Dance Izzy ran well to finish 2nd in her A3 after early crowding. She is only a March 08 whelp but is doing very well to compete at this level so early in her career. She might make in to a nice stayer later on.
Saturday 17th
Our 7 runners tonight produced one winner and a 2nd.
June 08 pup, Slaneyside Molly, made her debut tonight in the A7. She did not break particularly well but paced up to the bend really well to lead at the first. She managed to pull a couple clear but ran green and swung wide off the last bend. She finished 2nd but recorded a nice 30.19. She'll be winning this grade sooner rather than later.
We were made to wait for our winner tonight as Parnell Lee won the last race on the card. He did not break very well but showed lovely early to lead at the bend and stretched the field out down the back . He won this A2 in 29.29.
