Week ending 26th July 2009
Monday 20th
No luck today with our 6 runners. Stanton Spaniel and Stanton Torres came closest when both finishing second in their races.Tuesday 21st
A quiet trial session by our standards with just 4 dogs going through their paces. Ballyphilip Lady returned to the racing strength after two months off. She recorded a pleasing 29.84. Young puppy, Twiglish Whitty qualified for racing when posting a good 29.89. She is un raced and it will be interesting to see her progress over the coming weeks. Recent Oxford intake, Lisnakil Xpress posted 30.39 and should qualify for racing at next weeks session. Parnell Lee posted a pleasing 17.00 in his sprint trial. This big lad has been off the track for around 3 months with a few problems but should compete at a decent level when at his best.
Wednesday 22nd
A quiet night with only 4 runners. Stanton Jerry ran a blinder when finishing 2nd in his A2. He just got caught before the line but recorded a good 29.26. He hadn't been given a run for 3 weeks and would have needed the run.
Friday 24th
3 winners today from our 10 runners. Ashby Crown won for the first time since returning from his wrist injury, he won his A2 in 29.39. Not Yet sprang a big surprise to win her A2 race in 29.60. She was available at 10/1 on course. Strictly Baileys won his first race back from injury tonight. He dug deep to just hold on in his A5 contest. He won in 29.75 and should continue to improve. He's now won 3 of his 8 races and hopefully will get a bit of luck now after a torrid time with injuries. Our run of seconds continued again today with Stanton Leroy, Stanton Tom, Oaks Best all finishing runner up.
Saturday 25th
Ling won her A3 tonight in 29.53. She led at the first bend and didn't ever look like being beaten. She has done very well since arriving from Ireland and has now won 4 of her 10 races. We are still suffering with seconditis though, Hell Razor and Twiglish Whitty had to settle for 2nd place in their races tonight.
