Week ending 12th July 2009
Monday 6th
No luck today from our 4 runners. Stanton Ollie came closest to winning when finishing third in his A3. All dogs returned safe and sound though.
Tuesday 7th
A mixed day at trials today. Ballinorig Maeve went very well in her first 685m trial. She clocked a decent 42.12 and stayed the trip well. I'm looking forward to seeing her in the S1's soon. Clomantagh Blue also qualified for 6 bend racing today when clocking 43.35.
Stanton Leroy returned after being knocked over last time out to win his trial in 29.47. Recent arrivals, Twiglish Whitty (17.07), Twiglish Nick (17.48) and Quay Six (17.31) all went nicely in their sprint trials. Stanton Tom returned to the track for the first time in nearly four months after breaking a bone above his hock. He delighted us with his fastest-of-the-session 16.68 trial. He returned 100% sound and will be trialling over four bends next week.
Unfortunately it was not such good news regarding Stanton Teddy. Teddy, who was in the process of trialling back on after breaking his hock 9 months ago, suffered a reaction in the hock after his trial today and will not make a return to racing. It's a great shame as he looked a top prospect in the beginning. He'll now be kept as a kennel pet.
Wednesday 8th
With a break in the recent warm weather, around 20 dogs were able to be put through their paces on the gallop. Strictly Baileys is working well in his return from injury and will be ready for a trial next week. We do look to have one very nice puppy in the kennel at the moment judging by the way she worked up the gallop again today. Although she is un-raced, she is already beating some good A2 dogs and will be very exciting to watch when hitting the track.
A good night with 2 winners from our 6 runners. Lepus won her A5 in good fashion. She led at the first bend and drew 6 lengths clear before tiring coming home. She won by just under 2 lengths in 29.76.
Stanton Spaniel continued her good recent form when scoring in her A5. She led off the second bend and just hung on by 3/4 of a length. She recorded 29.84.
Friday 10th
Two winners today and quite a few seconds again! Hell Razor ran the perfect race when leading all the way to win his A6 in a personal best 29.74. Realt Gael won in only her second race back since returning from injury. She battled on gamely to win her A5 in 29.68.
Stanton Sarah, Stanton Torres, Cheeseboard and Field Son all ran well to finish second in their respective races.
Saturday 11th
No runners this evening due to the running of the 1st round of the Produce Stakes.
There will be a delay in posting next week's blog, as I'm away in Spain for a week's holiday. For any urgent enquiries while I'm away, please contact Geoff Hutton on: 07990 688 681.

*June Dog of the Month*
This month's award has to go to Stanton Bluebell. Bluebell won 2 of her 4 races this month, including A1 victories in 28.80 & 28.82. She was 2nd in her other A1 and 3rd in a very good quality Open Race. She really has been in top form of late.
