Week ending 24th May 2009
Monday 18thA steady start to the week with 1 winner from 5 runners. Stanton Sarah ran on strongly to win her A3 contest in 29.41. This girl will be trialling over 6 bends soon and should make in to a nice graded stayer. Class Eagle ran a blinder to be beaten a shd. Eagle will also be trialling over 6 bends soon.
Tuesday 19th
Another busy trial session with 9 dogs going through their paces. Recent arrival, Lively Lotte trialled well over the 480m when recording 29.10. Stanton Buddy had his first four bend trial after injury and was beaten just a shd by Lotte.
Ling completed her qualifying trials when posting 29.74. Stanton Teddy continued his comeback when recording a very pleasing 17.01 over 285m. Teddy has been bouncing so far after his trials so it's very much fingers crossed this lad makes a safe return to racing.
Wednesday 20th
Although we didn't find a winner this evening, there were a couple of very pleasing runs. Again, Bers Rose ran her heart out for the kennel and was only just denied on the line. Stanton Jerry must go down as the unluckiest dog in the kennel! This pup fell out the traps but showed terrific early pace only to be crowded on the run to the bend. He then rode two bumps going around the first. He turned in to the back straight 4th but unleashed his terrific pace and made good quality A2 dogs look paceless to lead at the 3rd. He went a couple of lengths clear but had done all of his running by then and was picked up on the line. This pup will produce a very fast run when things go his way.
Friday 22nd
2 winners from today's meetings and no end of seconds! Oddson Foxy flew from the traps to win her A7 in 30.04. This youngster is learning the game nicely now and will continue to improve. Stanton Bluebell ran a blinder to finish 2nd in her A2. She recorded a personal best 29.03 and is still a pup. The stiff 480m is just a bit too far for her at the moment. She still has some maturing to do though and will hopefully stay better with age.
Lepus was a name on a few peoples lips tonight after winning hew A8 by nearly 9 lengths. She quickly hit the front in what proved to be a very messy race and won nicely.
Others worthy of a mention today are Whateverittakes, Lively Lotte and Stanton Polly. Whateverittakes was 2nd in his A6 and this pup will improve next time and go very close to winning. Lotte ran a blinder in her A1. She was crowded throughout but stayed on very well to finish second in her top heat race. Polly led every yard in her A3 only to be beaten in a photo finish.
Saturday 23rd
Stanton Denis provided tonight's winner. He pinged the lids and quickly took control of his A2 race. He scored in a decent 29.16.
Puerto Bound ran a superb race in defeat. She was badly crowded on the 1st bend but stayed on strongly to finish second. She still recorded 29.27 and hopefully will make a nice stayer when stepped up in trip.
