Week ending 31st May 2009
Monday 25th
A good start to the week with 2 winners from 6 runners. Class Eagle, who had been very unlucky in recent races, finally got the run of the race to win her A4 in 29.33. Today's other winner was Stanton Leroy. He won his A2 in 29.69.Tuesday 26th
A very sad trial session after the serious injury suffered to Pretty Jordan. She smashed her hock to pieces going into the first bend. At only 2 years of age, she hadn't raced yet for her new connections and it goes to show that all that really matters in this game is bringing the dogs home safe and sound.
Field Son trialled back after a short lay off with the cough. He went well enough and will be back winning races soon.
January 08 baby, Princess Ziggy had her first four bend trial today and went well. She recorded 30.61 and already looks like a stayer in the making.
Wednesday 27th
A quiet night with only 4 runners, produced 1 winner. Stanton Ollie quickly hit the front in his A3 and stuck on gamely to score in 29.45
Friday 29th
Although the afternoon BAGS meeting did not produce any winners, there were two good performances. Serene Lark ran with real credit in only his second race back from a cracked hock. He finished 2nd in his A4 and was just caught on the line. Calling Light also led every yard bar the winning line to finish 2nd in her A2.
The night meeting proved to be much more successful with a hat trick of wins. Lively Lotte started proceedings with a trap to line success in the top heat. She recorded a good 28.93. Bet Ya Clodagh proved a popular winner when scoring in her A2. She quickly hit the front and never looked like being beaten. She recorded a personal best 29.23. The night was completed by Stanton Bluebell who again led all the way. She won very impressively in a personal best 28.83. This pup is maturing fast and will get better.
Saturday 30th
Not much to report from tonight's meeting. Ballinahini Dini came closest to a win when finishing 2nd in his A2. He recorded a personal best of 29.19 and is getting better all the time.
