Week Ending 9th March
Tuesday 4th
Der Lone Razor re joined the graded strength after his 29.97 trial. Spud had been off for 3 months with a wrist injury so he'll improve for this run today.
Toms Knowledge impressed with his 28.84 trial win in his first look at Swindon's 4 bends. He's does everything well and is a very good addition to the kennel.
The un raced Forest Gavin moved well as he won his trial in a  good 28.89 and will continue to improve. Nickys Love and Forest Jessica both went well in behind Gavin and will be back racing next weekend.
Boom Boom Dave posted 29.34 in his first 4 bend trial for a few months and will improve for the run. He's a lovely pup with a bright future over the longer trips.
Unique Woe (16.41), Scaffs Misty (16.45) and Barnish Booth (16.42) all ran good sprint trials in their return from lameness.
Forest Sara is a member of the Oscar and Gavin litter and went well in her first look at Swindon when posting 16.74.
Dragon Big Bux (16.30) and Boom Boom Hero (16.37) both went very well while new recruits Paradise Malibu (16.49) and High Demand (16.71) took to the track nicely first time.
Wednesday 5th
Boom Boom Lass was the star of the show for the kennel this evening as she took a trial stake for the upcoming Arc in great style. Lass broke well and led all the way to win in 28.66. It's easy to forget that this girl is still a puppy.
Jet Stream Girl notched another win as she led on the run in to win her A3 in 29.27.
Friday 7th
Alarming Arti won his A3 in great style by nearly 5 lengths in 29.25 while puppy, Mercurial Hope got her first career victory as she won her A2 in determined style. Hope had been harshly treated after being upgraded from A4 to A2 without winning a race but she's learning all the time and won today in 29.28.
Jet Stream Olly continued his good recent form when taking the A1 in a fast 28.76.
Saturday 8th
Kingsmill Anois gave us our only winner tonight as he led all the way in his A2 to win in 29.21. Anois is a nice dog who's not had much racing due to injury niggles but hopefully he's over them now and will continue to improve from here.
Boom Boom Hero beat Boom Boom Dave in a pre race trial by 4 3/4 lengths in a very good 28.67. Hero has shown the huge benefit that time and patience can bring with young greyhounds as he's returned from his 2 month rest a completely different dog. He'll now head to Sittingbourne for a trial before taking in a maiden open.
Sunday 9th
Another terrific night for the kennel at Sittingbourne as we won all 4 of the open races we contested.
Forest Oscar is a top prospect and he won his 480m maiden open in great style by nearly 6 lengths in a very good 29.10. Oscar did everything right, broke well, showed very good early and stayed the trip strongly. If he continues to improve as he should he could make a very good class greyhound.
Allen Buttercup made it 2 wins from 2 over the 450m trip as she broke well and led all the way for a comfortable win.
Glanmire Warrior pinged the lids and ran a very brave race to lead all the way in his 642m open. He's much better suited to the galloping tracks and hopefully there's more to come with him.
Jet Stream Captain completed the nights work as he flew the lids to win his 480m heat at 10/1. Captain just held on from the fast finishing Droopys Ed Moses to win in a fastest of the night 28.93. It's a very good final for next week and we'll need Captain to break just as well as he did tonight.

Week Ending 2nd March

Tuesday 25th Feb
Pennys Peggy joined the graded strength after winning her trial in good style in 29.60. She's a member of a very good litter and should improve nicely in time.
Alarming Jacks was given a trial after waiting 3 weeks for a race at Swindon and moved well to record 28.90.
Exciting puppy, Forest Gavin, ran a pleasing 28.91 solo after taking a fall the previous week. There is plenty to come from this lad which was obvious today as he tired badly coming home.
Although Punchestown Lad ran a good 29.26 he returned lame with a sprained wrist and faces a couple of months on the easy list again.
Boom Boom Love and Fleetwood Kittie also joined the graded strength.
Boom Boom Hero who had been given a couple of months off to rest and mature certainly proved this was the right decision as he recorded 16.33 in a solo sprint. Hero pinged the lids and powered home.
Der Lone Razor ( 16.74), Nickys Love (16.49) and Boom Boom Dave (16.59) all went well as they returned from a lay off while recent arrival, Toms Knowledge pleased us with a 16.43 first look. He's a nice dog with very good Shelbourne Park form and he'll be aimed at the Arc and English Derby.
Wednesday 26th
Just the one winner this evening as Sligo Mick won again in A2 company in 29.20.
Friday 28th
A good day with 4 winners from today's meetings.
Finalee recorded a personal best 28.94 as she won her A2 by 1 3/4 lengths.
Swansalona Bolt made it two wins on the trot as he won his A3 by 3 1/4 lengths in 29.40.
Hey Diego won his first race since returning from a cracked hock to win his A2 by 3 lengths in 29.00 and Alarming Jacks completed the days work as she ran a blinder to win a good A1 race by 1 3/4 lengths in 28.89.
Saturday 1st
Another top night at Swindon as we won 4 of the 5 races we contested.
Cheers Tony made it 3 wins from his 9 career races as he smashed the lids to win his A2 by 8 lengths in a very good 28.67. Tony posted a 2.32 sectional and I'd expect there to be further improvement from this lightly raced type. He's an interesting prospect.
It was great to see Joscar win his first race for the kennel and he won in good style. He led off the 2nd bend to win his A2 by 2 1/2 lengths in 28.81. Joscar is another one of our dogs who hadn't been given a race for 3 weeks so this performance was all the more impressive and a credit to all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes at the kennels.
Droopys Harper has been a wonderful dog for the kennel and he won again tonight in the S1. Harper showed good pace down the back straight and powered home to win by 7 lengths in 42.22.
Mercurial Jet showed the benefit of the further experience we gave him at Sittingbourne as he looked more of the finished article tonight as he beat kennel mate Gemstone Jack in the A1. Jet broke very well and stayed on strongly to win by a neck in a personal best 28.71. Jet has been outside the first 3 only once in his 15 races and has now won 7 times. Not bad for a dog that isn't 2 years old until May! He's for sale to stay in the kennel and really would give someone an awful lot of fun.
Boom Boom Lass beat Witcombe Dilemma by a short head in 28.80 in a pre race trial and both will improve nicely for the workout.
Sunday 2nd
Sittingbourne has been a very happy hunting ground for us this year and this continued tonight with another 3 winners.
Jetstream Captain beat kennel mate Forest Oscar in the maiden 480 by 2 3/4 lengths in 29.51. Captain was badly crowded on the first bend but showed good pace down the back and came home very strongly win in good style. Forest Oscar delighted us with his debut run behind Captain and he wont be long in winning. Oscar broke well but was very badly crowded on the bend but showed a very good attitude and plenty of pace to get himself back into contention and he could well be a but special in time.
Jet Stream Duke continued his unbeaten run to his UK career as he made it 4 wins from 4 starts in the 500m open. Duke missed the break but showed great track craft around the first two bends and flew home from the 3rd bend to beat kennel mate Swords Brett by 1 3/4 lengths in 30.54. Duke will more than likely head back to Sittingbourne next week before a possible tilt at the Arc.
Derby Finalist, Screen Critic, made his return to racing this evening after a break of 7 months since the Select Stakes at Nottingham and he could hardly have been more impressive as he led virtually all the way to win by 3 lengths in 29.27. He'll improve nicely for this run though and will head back to Sittingbourne next week for a small competition before contesting the Arc and English Derby again. It's great to have Batman back racing again and I must thank his owner, Mr Burton, for his patience and allowing the dog all the time he needed before we bought him back. It will pay dividends in the long run.

Thursday, 6 February 2014

Week Ending 2nd February
Tuesday 28th Jan
A busy trial session this morning with 17 dogs going to Swindon.
Royal Secret qualified over the 6 bend trip with her 42.76 trial.
Forest Oscar was the star of the show today as he showed superb all round pace to win his trial in a flying 28.47. Oscar is only a June 12 puppy and hasn't raced but looks a seriously top class prospect.
Hey Diego returned from his cracked hock with a superb 29.08 trial win. Stanton Ranger (29.78) and Witcombe Howzat (29.36) joined the graded strength after their final qualifying trial.
Jet Stream Duke looks a very nice addition to the kennel and he qualified for racing following his 28.95 win. Kingsmill Anois (29.15) and Cheers Tony (29.41) both rejoined the graded strength.
Screen Critic continued his come back from injury with a very decent 16.12 sprint, he beat Alarming Jacks by just over 2 lengths.
Jet Stream Captain is another very nice addition to the open race team and he impressed today with his 16.35 trial.
Unraced novice, Forest Jessica moved very well to post 16.56 in her solo sprint.
Wednesday 29th
Just the one winner this evening at Swindon as Jet Stream Girl continued her excellent recent form to win her A3 in good style.
Over at Hall Green we had two runners on the Sky card and although we didn't manage a winner I was delighted with both Boom Boom Lass and Southern Mesut.
Lass showed huge early pace but drifted badly on the 2nd bend and lost a good few lengths in running. I think she would have won with a trial.
Mesut was again poorly drawn in trap 6 and was bumped on the run up as he moved middle. He looked to be in a great position going into the 2nd bend but he was badly hampered by the 1 dog and was knocked out of contention. He came off with a split web though and faces a couple of weeks on the easy list. He'll be aimed at a Sky race at Wimbledon on Juvenile night before contesting the Swindon Arc and English Derby.
Friday 31st
Just the one winner from today's Swindon meetings as Alarming Alan ran a super race to get up close home to win his A2.
Saturday 1st
A marvellous start to the month as we won all 5 of the races that we contested tonight.
Chow For Now didn't take long to return to winning ways after a 3 1/2 month lay off as he led at the halfway point to beat Kilhara Missy by just over a length in 28.81.
Stanton Ranger won on his debut as he showed good all round pace to win his A3 by 2 3/4 lengths in 29.16. Ranger is only a lightly raced Jan 12 and has plenty of improvement left in him yet.
Gemstone Annie made it 2 wins from her last 3 races as she won her A2 by 1/2 a length in 29.07.
Cheers Tony produced a demolition job in his A2 as he won by nearly 6 lengths in a personal best 28.80. This was Tony's first race in nearly 3 months and it'll be interesting to see how he handles a step up in class. He's only had 6 races and is an interesting prospect.
Mercurial Jet completed the night's work as he got is first top heat victory as he won by nearly 3 lengths in 29.08. Jet is a lovely puppy and wont be 2 until May. If he can learn to trap a bit better he could be a nice dog later in the year.
Sunday 2nd
The great start to the month continued tonight at Sittingbourne as we had 3 open race winners.
Jet Stream Duke won on his debut in a 480m maiden by 2 3/4 lengths in a good 29.08. Duke stayed this trip very strongly and will be stepped up to the 500m next week. He's a lovely dog and could be very useful over a short 6 bends.
Allen Buttercup showed the benefit of a change of scenery as she broke well and won her 450m open in good style in a fast 27.49.
Swords Brett won his heat of the 500m competition in good style as he led all the way to win by nearly 4 lengths in 30.38.
Jet Stream Odds will join Brett in the final next week as he showed good determination to finish 2nd in his heat after finding early trouble.
In a pre race trial Swansalona Diva ran a huge trial to beat Dragon Big Bux by over 6 lengths in a fast 29.06. Diva ran the track well and stayed very strongly. She really could make a top class stayer in time. Bux didn't run the track very well and will have a precautionary check over before he trials again.
Week Ending 12th January
Monday 6th
Just the one winner to start the week with as Sligo Mick continued his good recent form with another A2 win.
Tuesday 7th
A busy trial day with 14 going through their paces at Swindon this morning.
Kilhara Missy flew the lids to win her trial in 29.00, Dubai Swift (29.36) and Jet Stream Girl (29.70) both returned to the graded strength.
Youngster, Boom Boom Bill posted 29.48 in his solo trial but didn't look to be striding out very well and will be checked over before he does anything else.
Southern Mesut re qualified after missing his last Romford open race with sickness with a flying 15.94 sprint. He beat Dragon Big Bux (16.44) and Boom Boom Lass (16.52).
Fairhill Paddy (16.50) and Chow For Now (16.73) both went ok in their return from injuries.
There were some good performances from our new batch of youngsters. Hip Hip Who Razor in particular showed great promise as she posted a brilliant 16.43. Formerly Forest Bluebell, she's only had minimal schooling and hasn't seen a track for around 3 months as we gave them plenty of time to settle in. She's a comrade to Forest Gavin who will begin his qualifying soon.
Forest Aoife (sister to Lexie), went well to post 16.82. Forest Oscar ran the track very well as he posted 16.72 and Stanton Ranger overcame a stumble to post 16.70.
Wednesday 8th
No luck from this evening's meeting as we didn't manage a winner from our 6 runners. Kingsmill Go who had waited 3 weeks again for a race, suffered a nasty fall at the first bend and will need around a month off.
We said goodbye to Forest Mollie today as she was sent back to the Forest kennels to begin her life as a brood bitch. Mollie is from a top litter and she'll hopefully produce some good pups. The obvious highlight of Mollie's career was finishing 3rd in the English Oaks of 2012.
Thursday 9th
A long trip to Hove tonight with 3 runners.
National sprint winner, Helenas Sailor made his debut for the kennel and went ok to finish 3rd. He broke well but didn't get much luck around the bends as he was constantly being bumped. He would have needed this run a bit anyway and he'll head to Nottingham next. He's a top arrival in the kennel.
Under The radar and Gemstone Jack were both out of luck in their opens.
Friday 10th
We'll start at Romford where we had the first open race hat trick of the year!
Boom Boom Lass overcame a lack of a trial as she run her heart out to win a 400m maiden in great style. She didn't break in her best fashion but showed great pace up and ran a very brave first bend to go round in front. She went onto win by 3 lengths in a good 24.32 and can only improve with further experience and race fitness. She's now won 4 of her 5 races.
Swords Messi who was much better drawn in trap 3 got a much deserved Romford success. He flew the lids and led all the way to win by 2 lengths in a good 24.12.
The top class Southern Mesut completed the nights work as he overcame a poor draw in 6 to unleash his huge early pace to miss the trouble on the bend. He went onto win by 7 3/4 lengths in 24.18. There's still more to come from this dog and the Golden Sprint in March looks a obvious target. He's now won 4 of his 7 races in the UK.
At Swindon we had 4 winners from today's meetings.
Burgess Ali took the opportunity of a quick downgrade to lead nearly all the way in her A6.
Reel Tiger showed the benefit for last weeks comeback race as she led on the run up to win her A4 by 1/2 a length in 29.48.
Jet Stream Olly continued his recent improvement as he led all the way to win his A1 by 2 lengths in 28.72. He'll more than likely head to Sittingbourne next week for a maiden. Swansalona Diva ran her best race to date to finish 2nd to Olly. She's still a novice but is learning all the time and she's recorded 28.89 in only her 3rd ever race. She still looks like a top prospect.
Nickys Love got another win to add to her tally as she led all the way to win her A2 by 1/2 a length in 29.00
Saturday 11th
Another good night with 3 winners at Swindon.
Forest Pearl soon led in her A2 to beat kennel mate Alarming Arti in 29.13.
Jet Stream Girl ran on strongly to win her A3 in 29.70 and Gemstone Annie completed the night's work as she led all the way to win her A2 in 29.00.

Saturday, 11 January 2014

Week Ending 5th January 2014
Monday 3rd
Alarming Arti gave the kennel our first winner of 2014 with just our 2nd runner.
He led at halfway to win going away in 29.37.
Puppy, Mercurial Jet, surprised us a little with his win today in a good A2. He'd been left without a run for 3 weeks again so certainly needed this race. He ran a brave 1st bend and led at the halfway point to beat kennel mate, Gemstone Annie by 2 lengths in a good 29.05. It's more than likely he'll head somewhere else for a trial now as he's not getting enough experience at Swindon.
Swansalona Bolt got his first career victory in the A6 tonight. He led at the 2nd bend to hang on gamely by 3/4 of a length in 29.64.
Sunday 5th
A trip to Sittingbourne tonight for the heats of the 480m standard comp.
Jet Stream Odds got our first open race winner of the year as he just got up on the line to beat kennel mate Jolly Bullseye by a head. Bullseye flew the lids and led a long way but Odds kept to his task well and continued his excellent record of winning first time up at tracks.
Both of these will be joined in the final by Swords Brett after he finished 2nd in his heat. He broke well but ran straight off at the bend but ran well after that. He'll improve for the look round and it's great to have half of the field in next weeks final.

Sunday, 29 December 2013

Week Ending 29th December
Monday 23rd
A good evening at Romford as we won both heats of the Stayers competition.
The soon to retire Ding Hero really battled well to take his heat by a short head in 35.93 while the useful Fairhill Paddy led all the way in his heat to win by 3 lengths in a fast 35.19.
Unfortuantley Paddy cut his foot in the race and missed the final on Friday night. We now face a race against time to have him ready for the Coronation Cup. It would be a great shame to miss this comp as he's more than good enough to go a long way in it.
Thursday 26th
Just the one winner from today's Boxing day meeting.
Gleannrue Mario made it 2 from 2 at Swindon as he showed a lot of guts to hold on to win his A2 by a short head in 29.28.
Swansalona Bolt ran well on debut to be beaten 1 1/4 lengths in his A6. He won't be too long in winning.
Friday 27th
A very quiet day for the kennel with just Ding Hero at Romford in the stayers final. Ding has run his heart out again to finish 2nd, beaten just over a length.
Saturday 28th
Two winners to finish a quiet week off with.
Droopys Harper who's been running well of late without winning, led off the 2nd bend to gamely win his S1 by 3/4 of a length in 42.09.
Jet Stream Olly led home a kennel 1-2-3 in one of the A1's. Olly broke well and led pretty much all the way to beat Glenmire Warrior by 1 length in a personal best 28.79. I was pleased with the run of Warrior who looked much more at home on a galloping track and it's possible he'll head to Sittingbourne next week for a maiden. Perhaps the most eye catching dog to take from the race was Swansalona Diva who showed huge promise to finish 3rd beaten just over 4 lengths in her first ever race. It's a massive ask for a novice to go straight into top heat against experienced campaigners but she handled the occasion well and would have gone a lot closer without crowding down the back straight. She really does look a terrific prospect.
Gemstone Jack ran his best race so far since returning from injury as he finished 2nd in the other A1. Jack recorded 28.62 but had no answer to Erics Gav who was a very impressive winner of the race.
